Subject: Resignation From BDDC Board
Mayor Ward
I am writing to resign from the Bristol Downtown Development Corporation effective Tuesday, December 15.
I want to thank you Mayor, for nominating me to the position and also Chairman, Frank Johnson and all the board members who serve on the Corporation, for their dedication in a common cause of developing the Depot Square property.
The conflict of interest, I raised at the Monday’s meeting of the Corporation, stops the progress of this important project, and could have continued to be a concern, on future votes.
I would also like to acknowledge the work of the Development Corporation’s Executive Director, Richard Harrall and Atty. David Sheriden, for their dedicated service to the Corporation.
My decision to resign is not an easy one, but I believe it’s in the best interest of the Corporation and most importantly the City of Bristol and its residents.

John leone you are a class act.It will be tough to fill those shoes.
I hear Mike Nicastro takes the same size loafers?
Class act? John knew this was coming long before the vote, why didn't he resign then. He had to know this was going to be a problem as long as he was on this comitee. Did he thing that he could just not vote on anything? It's time for all of the good old boys to move on and let some new blood take over. This city hasn't moved at all in years. We sure haven't done anything in the last two years and now Ward wants us to just let him stay in for another4. Please give us all a break. Lets just hope that Leone doesn't get rewarded fror this by being appointed to another comitee.
Hey, 8:18 PM, if you're so smart, tell us what Leone's conflict of interest was and when he first knew it. If you paid attention and did a little research instead of spouting off without any real information, you'd know that his conflict materialized very recently and was not, as you so smugly stated, a long time in the works. Nice try, though.
