Barbara Franklin backs Foley for governor

Former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Barbara Franklin, a Bristol resident, is among the prominent Republicans that gubernatorial hopeful Tom Foley listed among his backers this week.
Foley, a former ambassador, is pushing to win the GOP's endorsement in May for his campaign to succeed outgoing Gov. Jodi Rell, who is stepping down.
There are a handful of contenders from both parties for the state's highest post, though it remains unclear why anybody would want the job.

So, we have a country club Republican with no legislative experience, endorsed by another country club Republican with no legislative experience. That ensures victory by the country club Democrat with no legislative experience (Lamont). LMAO.

Odin:
She was the United States Secretary of Commerce. Wisdom is knowing when to shut up. You obviously lack such.

My question to her or anyone else is this. Why doesn't she run?

A good Reason to vote for Michael Fedele.

I must add one more thing. What the heck is the matter with Franklin? Fedele is clearly the better candidate. To answer the argument of Legislative experience, Fedele has plenty, as well as local public service. He has a very strong business background and he's Lt. Governor. Former Ambassador Foley (whether he belongs to a "country club" or not) is part of the Washington insider club that Franklin was a part of almost two decades ago. Perhaps she and Foley are friends from them, which makes this endorsement irrelevant, apparently much that same as almost everything else Barbara Franklin says.

Alex, I mean positively right, Fedele is more of the same RINO politics that you claim to hate. Fedele is nothing more than a weak Jodi Rell. I think We need a hard core conservative in the Governor's office or else this state is doomed with more spending and promises it can not keep. You and I will be broke unless we get the state budget under control.

Tom Foley has made a career out of turning bad companies into profitable ones and we need that kind of experience in Hartford right now.

1) I never stated I "hate" RINOs. I certainly stated that the Bristol GOP (many of them at least) are Republicans in name Only. In other words many of them have no idea what the national party platform stands for. At least one of their leaders is a strong supporter of the UAW (which in regards to political action is very liberal..."Healthcare for all" for example). But I certainly never stated I "hate" anyone.

2) If Fedele is another Jodi Rell, why isn't she endorsing him? Where has it been documented that Fedele is not a stronger conservative than Jodi Rell?

3) I don't consider the GOP governor of Connecticut a "RINO". I'm sorry you do. She may have taken a more liberal stand on certain issues (like civil unions and public campaign finance) but I would NOT call her (a long-standing Republican elected official) a "RINO". Jodi Rell has been a Republican and a strong supporter of Republican Party for too long. She has my upmost respect. I love Jodi Rell. Her recent law suit of the US Congress only strengthens that feeling.

4)Foley may be a hard-core conservative (that you "think" we need), but I doubt he's electable.
The alternative is a Democrat.

5) Fedele is a Republican of Italian heritage which trumps mega-bucks, Irishman Foley (in my book) anytime).

6) Who the heck is "Alex" (LOL)?

PS: I "think" you have your signals a bit crossed (LOL)!
