Victory parties in Bristol

After the polls close, head over to the victory parties to join the Republicans or Democrats as they watch the returns roll in.
The Republicans are gathering at the Clarion Hotel.
The Democrats are getting together at Nuchies.
Typically, we start to know some results by 8:30 -- maybe sooner if I can live blog from one of the precincts -- and should have a pretty good idea who won locally by 9:30 or so.
But you never know.
I'll try to live blog what I can, but it's not easy while running around trying to get the stories that have to be filed in what seems like the blink of an eye in order to meet deadlines.

The Bristol RINOs are gathering at the Clarion Hotel. But it won't be much of a victory party.

This year at the Clarion, the Bristol GOP will once again be celebrating their ineptitude and their lack of leadership.

RINOS defined:

R...epugnant repuglicants
I...n
N...eed
O...f
S...olice

(to reflect on and recover from their evil ways).

Pray for your salvation and for the return of your honor, dignity, and self-respect. Ask for the ultimate gift to heal your souls: forgiveness.

Heaven help you all!

RINO is "Republican In Name Only".

Yeah, 10:33! I couldn't have said it better.

You can't be serious November 3, 2008 10:33 PM.

Is there anything more repugnant than intolerance?

Why do people in "your world" think it's somehow OK to deny women the right to choose what happens to THEIR bodies? Who gives you that right?

There are a millions of people who have a different point of view than yours, and who (believe it or not) find YOUR ilk absolutely repugnant.

And you have me all wrong in terms of my work ethics. I work much more than I should, and have been counseled for workaholism. Work is my drug, and I'm dealing in it all the live long day. :o)

Vote OBAMA/BIDEN tomorrow! We have work to do!

The Palin rally's are over! Now you can go home and bAR-B-Q some squirrel, you betcha! ;o)

So Long McPain and failin' Palin, take care...

Make way for President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joseph Biden!

You guys continue to amaze me.

Steve called the gatherings a "victory party", which is a bit presumptuous for either side. To me, it's a celebration of lots hard work and thanking the folks that participated in the process.

Gosh, you guys would argue if someone said that the sky is blue. Get over yourselves.

McCain will win!

11:04 What gives anyone the right to kill a baby? Oh yeah, Obama's for that.

Candidates and their supporters should gather and be thanked, win or lose. Candidates are under a microscope... there is a lot of work and a lot of pressure. The press is biased, and people write letters to the editor with false accusations, sometimes even signed with false names. The mud is slung. It's a dirty business.

Luckily, there are some good people who are willing to put themselves out there because they want to improve life for the rest of us. Those people should be thanked tonight; they deserve it for going through the rigors of the campaign and being part of the process.

Vote "the one" and the dumb aka Obama Biden aka November 3, 2008 11:04 PM:

You're obviously an idealistic young lady. Someday you might be lucky enough to get pregnant. Take a look at the ultra-sound pictues after onlty a few months and then tell me it's "a choice" about "your" body and not a life.
You'll see how over-zealou in regards to "choice" you are.
Then you'll have grown up.

And as far as Calvinism and theology, Calvinism doesn't recognize gov't social welfare recipients as better then the successful as you neo-socialists do. Then again you may not be a Protestant, and that's fine. But one should call people who are ones who should be asking god to "save your soles", especially when you kill fetuses in the mother's womb.

YIKES! You're a very scary, over-the-top creepy repugnant republicant November 4, 2008 9:28 AM!

Calvinism? Predestination? WTF?

"But one should call people who are ones who should be asking god to "save your soles", especially when you kill fetuses in the mother's womb."

What kind of whack-job statement is that?

BTW: sorry to disappoint you, but I ain't no lady. ;o)

I'm an American citizen who has waited eight long years to eject the corrupt criminals occupying the White House. They really should have been impeached years ago, but they managed to escape that grueling process. No worries, though.

Justice is coming for Bush, Cheney, and all the other co-conspirators. Time to lock 'em up and throw away the keys. They will not get away with their crime sprees. YES WE CAN and YES WE WILL!

Justice for all!

The GOP should hold a VICTORY party when their current leadership resigns.

If you're going to make accusations, 11:26, how about some substance behind them? Bush and Cheney are criminals? What did they do that was against the law?

Unfortunately, Bush isn't running and we will not have the benefit of his wisdom and patience any longer. Before him we had Clinton, an Oval Office molester who was impeached and taught a generation of Candyland-playing tots what oral sex is. After Bush we may have Obama, whose economic polices would bring us down just like Jimmy Carter's did. But from what we know of Obama, bad economics would be only one of our worries.

hey sobbers, get over it, we had to suffer for the past 8 years of incompetence, now give Obama the chance to correct it.

"Yeah, 10:33! I couldn't have said it better. November 3, 2008 10:50 PM"

Actually, you could have said it better in Arabic, since this is exactly the kind of "my way or the highway to hell" thinking of al-Quaeda and the Taliban. You would be right at home over there. Leave now.

"11:04 What gives anyone the right to kill a baby? Oh yeah, Obama's for that."

A fetus is not a baby. If it was, we wouldn't need a different word for it.

If your faith believes that it is, fine, follow the teachings of your faith. But not all religions believe that a fetus is a person, and in America we have freedom of religion. You don't get to tell me what God expects of me, and vice versa.

Anonymous said...

Partial birth abortion: the baby's head is out of the mother's body. The baby may or may not be breathing. Then the baby is killed. We're not talking about a fetus, we're talking about a baby who could live and breathe on his/her own. Now this is the kind of president you've elected: pro-infanticide. And it's only one of his disgusting and dangerous views.

Republican'ts are just that they can't seem to tell everybody iis wrong except them. Two more years of their useless whining! They'll never accomplish a thing. People in general don't like their nastiness. Can't they tell ?

Odin said...

The Republican Party is dying because the voters have finally seen it for what it truly is: a self-serving bunch of hypocrites that promises less government but gives themselves a "bridge to nowhere"; talks about personal responsibility but votes for huge give-aways to corporations to fire workers and move offshore; says it wants to get government "off our backs" but puts it in our bedrooms; mocks "nation building" by Democrats but imposes "regime change" by making war on Third World countries; the list goes on and on. Goodbye GOP - it's been nice knowin' ya (wink).

Sarah Palin thinks that politics is nasty. She ought to see her friends on this Blog. It would put her woes to shame. Her republicans on here are the nastiest people in the world. So if she can't take it like we do quit!

Anonymous said...

"I didn't do all this for naught."

You betcha she'll be back, because in four years we'll all be begging her to run. By then we'll be shooting squirrels for food and we'll have a lot in common. Unless Osama takes our guns along with our jobs and our retirement funds.

Palin 2012!

Seem like the Republicans don't realize when they have a good thing, at all levels.
