Larson may move up leadership ladder

If this report by CBS proves true, U.S. Rep. John Larson, the congressman who represents Bristol, may move up into the job as chairman of the House Democratic Caucus without any opposition at all.
The current occupant of the post, Illinios Rep. Rahm Emanuel is going to be chief of staff for President-elect Barack Obama.
If Larson moves up, he'll be the third highest ranking Democrat in a House dominated by his party, one of the most powerful lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
That would be good for Bristol's efforts to save its Social Security office, fund flood control projects and maybe even revive its downtown.
It never hurts to have a friend in high places.

But if that friend in a high place is a Republican, then he's a lackey.

It'll be interesting to see what Larson does with this. So far in Congress he's been himself, a do nothing blow hard.

Will Connecticut be turned around from being a stagnating, low-growth state with a declining population as a result of our Congressman's power position? One has to have at least a fraction of doubt.

It's funny Collins that you don't share the same concern about Lieberman losing positions as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committees. Perhaps you should blog for support of Lieberman rather than just being a chairman and a propagandist for Larson?

12:27 - how would we know, can't even get a republican out of Bristol - damn, we've tried but the presumed lackeys won't go....

Politics: take care of your friends, instead of doing what is right!

But it does get then elected.
