Voters may get a chance this fall to decide whether to let mayors and city councilors serve for four years at a time instead of running for office every two years.
The Charter Revision Commission is recommending the change in the city’s century-old governmental blueprint.
Having twice as much time to get things done — and only half as many municipal elections — would allow elected officials more chance to push through their agendas before facing voters again, charter commissioners said.
“Everyone whines about how inefficient government is,” said panel member Regina von Gootkin, and this gives them an opportunity to do something about it. CLICK HERE FOR STORY

NO They cant help the tax payers now. The unions will really take over . We need to abolish city unions not feed them.
Ward's idea - yet he didn't like it when Stortz was fond of it. Twofaced Ward. Hell no 4 years for no good Mayors.
Just more time to Empire build.
wouldn't put too much into the opinions on this site - this was the same site where you idiots were bragging the success of the COO position last year - didn't happen.
Sounds like a good idea to me. Less time campaigning, more time getting down to business.
Wouls Ward want the term to be four years if he thought that Zoppo would be mayor
10:01: NO ONE would want a 4 year term if Zoppo was mayor! LMAO!!!
Excellent idea mayor and council serve four years. The only question is whether it should be state or federal prison
1:46, I don't know, which prison is your personal favorite?
Two years; we can fix- four years; irrepairable damage!
dont know dont have much experience with prison but im guessing you have some experience so tell me.
zoppo would be the worst thing to happen at the capitol; her vindictiveness would cost the city more money than ever.
