Foley gains the nod; Fedele, Griebel can primary

Republican Whit Betts, who's running in the 78th District, talks with Oz Griebel during the convention vote to choose the party's gubernatorial candidate.

Setting up a possible three-way primary for governor on the Republican side, both Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele and businessman Oz Griebel secured enough votes at the convention today to allow them to primary by right.
That means they can challenge former Ambassador Tom Foley, who won a slim majority, in an Aug. 10 primary.
Bristol Republicans, who mostly backed Griebel, said they were happy with the result.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley fields questions from the press.

One has to wonder if anyone really thinks Fitzgerald can win in the
77th. Even Burns barely won and he has much, much, much better name recognition than she does in Bristol. That and "Candidate-Whit" are just more examples of TJ's clulessness and the selfcentered-ness of the rest of the GOP "leaders". As long as they are in power, they couldn't care less what happens. More power to them...LOL!

Jill is taking on a dope in Chris Wright, who has supported anti-business and anti-ESPN bills, and who also felt Blumenthal's lies were "no big deal" that will "go away quickly." He is a little puppet who no one respects. He won on his father's name, who by the way, is also a moron. If it weren't for all that Obama momentum, Wright would have gotten trounced.

Fitzgerald wins this time around...mark it down. Same with Whit Betts. Deal with it!

Didn't know Fitzgerald was running.

Is she serious this time?

I agree that Wright is a dope, if not worse. And I'll be thrilled actually if either of those win in November, but I doubt it's going to happen. And if it does by some slim chance (in the 78th perhaps), it'll be a short tenure most likely. The Bristol GOP generally can't get good candidates.

Is Jilly any smarter?

Crissie certainly has more political smarts.

Is Burnsie going to tun her campaign?

Does anyone ever wonder why the Bristol Republicans find it difficult to come up with good candidates, ones that can win?

Does the Republican TC Officers evr give it a thought?
