Democrats caught unaware by Hamzy's move

Not only had the Democrats given up on finding a candidate to challenge state Rep. Bill Hamzy, the Plymouth Republican who is stepping down this year, they didn't even plan to go through the motions.
To pick a contender, the party has to schedule a convention in the 78th District with delegates from both Plymouth and Bristol.
On the assumption that nobody would step forward to run, the party didn't bother to pick delegates or schedule a convention.
City Democratic Chair Elliott Nelson said he's scrambling today to get the arrangements in place before the May 25 deadline set by the state.
So far, by the way, no Democratic hopefuls have talked with Nelson. But he said he expects to hear from some before long.

The party is as disorganized as their leader, Ward.

at least ward identifies himself when he speaks and doesn't slither under rocks like an anonymous snake.

eelly

Except when he doesn't!

The seat really belongs to Plymouth, and the Plymouth "democrats" have been so happy with Hamzy that they've been killing off any potential threat to Hamzy for years. I'd be surprised to see any real democratic contender come out of Plymouth.

Oh please, is that why Ellen ran in 1992? How about Attorney Creed the "military hero"? Hamzy has been defeating the threat all by himself. The Dems would have loved to beat him, they just couldn't. Although I do admit that last Democrat candidate was a joke (as are most of them really, unfortunately some do get elected though). Let's see what left-wing liberal jerk they run this year.

Seems like the Repblicans were caught unaware also.

11:23 is more like a jellyfish - a spineless wannabe!

Seeing as the Dems did not select Delegates or set a convention, the only way they can get on the ballot is through the petitioning process and a primary. Anybody know if this ture?

10:20...you are correct! They will have to hit the pavement soon.

Nothing new here, Dems are caught unaware by sunrise.

How can the democrats expect to get a candidate when the democrat mayor supports Betts?

And the Betts group supports Ward

Mayor is a real loser. If he spent as much time on city business as he does at the Legion Bar maybe he would know more about the budget.

10:00 - Are you one of the low-life underacheivers who revels in bashing others anonymously so that you can feel better?
Amazing, i always thought that snakes shed their dead skin - not thick enough?
Bag your waste or waste your bag? Are you wasted or are you bagged? Get a life - better yet, get a job.
