Less than 3 seconds to load on my machine. Not a major drawback. My ISP is Comcast. The new design is an improvement, but nothing can compete with the gossip, innuendo, and generally uninformed opinion found in local forums. Now that's entertainment!
I don't like the new site. It is slower and harder to navigate. And it doesn't appear there is more content from the print version then what the old site had. It looks like an attempt to put the spotlight on the publishers stable of newspapers and the advertisements.
