VIVA KEN JOHNSON!

JOHNSON 2009.

It is AMAZING to this Republican that Ken Johnson was able to come from practically NOWHERE and come within about 375 votes of being a guy who has been an elected Bristol official for the past 14 years! Add that to the fact that Republicans are outnumbered something like 3-1 in Bristol by the Dems and Ind.'s , that's a pretty GREAT turnout.
The Bristol Republicans will CONTINUE to build our base, CONTINUE to reach out to D's and I's, CONTINUE to speak to the very heart of the issues at the core of Bristol.
This may be the end of one campaign, but it is indeed the start of another !

Well at least us from the district of Chippens Hill picked the right person, too bad bristol didnt,
So once again, we will be paying higher taxes to support unions and the uneducated folks of Bristol, time to move to Avon

If Mocabee hadn't opened his mouth and Johnson hadn't said he wanted to get rid of the conveyance tax he probably would have won.

I think Mocabee has just punched his ticket out of town. (or at least out of the Bristol RTC)

Johnson's plan to get rid of the converyance tax is a good one. It may be a mute oint though as there is plenty of steam building to allow the current law to sunset.....a decesion that will be made for us. I think Ken learned some valuable lessons about running for office but I think his career as a politician is over before it even began. We have heard story after story in this state of crooked politicians. The people are sick of it. Ken has some issues with regard to his ethics that I for one could not get past. Ken had my vote but lost it. I didn't want to risk putting a guy in office who would later up under investigation for god knows what. Congrats to Ward and good luck to Ken!

Ken ... sorry for your loss, but even sorrier for Bristol. What is going on in this city when we elect a drunk over someone like Ellen or yourself.

Art ... you squeeked by. You'd best stay squeeky clean throughout your (hopefully short) tenure.

Congrats Art Ward! But Ken Johnson was the better man that should have won. Take a look at the mall....Its going to look the same in 2009! Oh..and your taxes will go up, and you people will still vote in all Dems again in 2009 and never learn your lesson. You are all brain washed and its a shame. I cant even drive into downtown Bristol without getting sick to my stomache and you guys keep voting in these idiots that never have any ideas for Bristol. At least ken Johnson had some very legit ideas to help Bristol in the very near future...What did Art have? I can't think of one! Did any of you people listen to the debates or are all of you tax payers deaf! You better start packing your boxes to move, bcause none of you will be able to afford your homes come 2008. Ken Johnson will be Mayor Wards worst nightmare for the next 2 years! I cant wait! LOL! Ward is going to need all the help he can get..And word on the street is that he is bringing back his best Friend...Mayor Couture! HAHAHA!

Now that Johnson is in the limelight I do believe that more of his character flaws will come out: he will not be a viable candidate in 2009.

Thought he wanted a City manger: has that changed too?

All of you have it right.
Bristol failed to elect the best man for our town...what will come of Bristol now??

People obviously did not pay attention to the race.
People did not watch the debates.
People are too stuck in their political parties to vote for someone better.

As for some of you, Ken is a very Ethical person compared to any of the politicians we've had try to run this city.
And yes. Ken still does want a City Manager.
He sticks firm to all of his platforms.

I look forward to 2009, if I haven't moved out of Bristol by then....

Hopefully the Republican party can do better and come up with an honest candidate who keeps his promises by 2009!

The election is over. Mr. Ward has won. Now is the time for the people of Bristol to pull together and get behind him. If we truly want to see some positive changes, then it's time to quit with the insults and nastiness...they're a worthless waste of time. If we want Bristol to move forward, we've got to get it together...and Jerry, if you can't respect our new mayor or the rest of us "uneducated folks", please do move to Avon. I'm sure we'll all be much happier.

MR JERRY<
WHO GIVES A RATS A** WHAT YOU THINK! I REALLY DONT THINK I LIKE YOU!

Why don't some of you stop blaming this last administration for the tax woes. Our taxes will go up regardless, because look at the price of oil ... almost at $100 a barrel! That is not the Dems nor the Republicans of this city's fault. Why don't you look to Washington if you're disgruntled about your taxes. Our taxes should have been going up in small increments over the last ten years, but because of political posturing we had to get whacked hard in the last four years. The timing was poor not to mention the re-val which is mandatory every ten years. The local political party had nothing to do with higher taxes and it won't during the next two years either.

Is Johnson planning on leaving his signs up and just changing the "7" to "9"?

Anonymous said...

His signs will fade, just as he will, as he has done in the past.

Who will be next?
