Achilli praises choice of Suchopar

Got this note from Donna Achilli, former Mayor Gerard Couture's secretary, this morning:

I would like to publicly voice my support of Mayor Ward’s decision to keep Mary Suchopar as his Executive Assistant.

During the campaign I was approached by many people that had heard rumors that I would return to the Mayor’s Office upon Art’s election. Each time I was approached I made it very clear that I was not returning to City Hall and that it was never mentioned or even up for discussion.

I am very happy that Art recognizes the need for the Mayor’s Office to have consistency with regard to its support staff. Mary has proven to be an asset to the citizens of Bristol, the Mayor and the City Council and there is no reason for her to be removed from the position.

A crucial point to Mayor Ward’s plan to move Bristol forward is implementing a stronger use of technology and e-communication relations with the community. Mary has the intelligence and technical knowledge to aid in this important mission. She has proven so during her term with Mayor Stortz by implementing a citizen email notification network as well as updating the Mayor’s information on the City website. I’m confident that with encouragement from Mayor Ward, Mary will be able to continue to improve upon the use of technology in the Mayor’s Office and lead the way for other departments to also improve upon their use of technology. It may require additional software application training for some City employees, but it will only benefit their efficiency, so it should be encouraged by all of our City leaders.

I applaud Art’s decision and I’m sure that Mary will continue to serve everyone well, especially in aiding the new council members through their learning curve.

Who cares?

As if anyone in the Western world cares about what Donna Achilli says or thinks. Too bad City Hall computers are blocked since I am sure so many of her "friends" would want to chat about how so so so sad they are that she isn't returning. NOT.

You people are so childish. Bravo to Donna for speaking up. She was wrongfully bashed for a long time by people threatened by her competence.

This was very classy and professional of her.

More proof that Donna isn't even fit to be a secretary. Look at her lousy writing skills. Maybe she's using Ken Johnson's keyboard with that funky caps key.

Let me reiterate. I'm glad she's being nice, diplomatic. I just don't find it too news-worthy.

If Suchopar was just a secretary from the street she would have been tossed aside, but since she is married to the Boy's Club director, she gets to stay because it is to Art's advantage to be on good terms with them. This has nothing to do with loyalty.

What is noteworthy about it is that Donna was ceasing the rumors that were circulating about her return. Then after Artie announce he was keeping Mary some of you idiots started spreading rumors that Donna was upset about it.

You all bashed her when she replaced Frank's secretary, now she is giving praise to the same practice not being repeated and you still bash her.

You are all just a bunch of sore losers and ignorant people that can't seem to recognize when someone is genuine.

Either that or these posts are all from one person....too much time on your hands Mocabee?

No one knows better than Donna what it takes to keep that office running smooth. She did a fantastic job and her opinion that someone else is doing just as good a job means a lot to me.

You jerks sound like a bunch of children. You are the reason good people don't get involved with the city.

10:44 - Donna's piece is well written. Where do you think she abused the caps lock key?

You sound like someone that is jealous of her work ethic and ability.

Give it a rest. She did a good thing here.

I agree with 1:14pm. You jerks are the reason good people don't want to do anything for this city. Donna has alot of knowledge and skills that could help this city go to the next level and she refuses to come forward with it anymore because she is sick of the idiots that lie about her and bash her.

There are a lot of people out there that can offer great things to Bristol but refuse to for the same reason. They don't want to be abused by the likes of stupid people like you.

Donna was awesome in the mayors office. She helped my mom out a lot when no one else could. I totally disagree that she doesn't have any class. Her message proves she has more class in her little finger than most people have in their entire body. All you idiots have proved that!
