Born to be wild?

Don't miss reporter Jackie Majerus' piece today on...
Who’s that tooling around town on a new Harley?
If you think you’ve spotted former Mayor Gerard Couture cruising city streets on a brand new motorcycle, you’re probably right.
Couture said his Harley-Davidson 1200 Sportster was a birthday present from his wife, Mary Lou. He turned 67 on October 18.
“It’s black, black and all chrome,” said Couture. “It’s a lot of fun.”
Couture said he used to ride a motorcycle in years past but didn’t have a current license.
“I’ve always had the itch to get on another one,” said Couture. He said he didn’t want to get to be 75 years old and look back with regret that he’d never gone back to motorcycling.
His wife told him if he took the motorcycle course and obtained a license, Couture said, she’d buy him the bike.
“I went and got my license,” said Couture, who said he took a four-day motorcycle course at Tunxis Community College. “I’ve been having a good time.”
The only passenger he’s had so far, Couture said, has been his wife.
“I took her for a short spin,” he said.
After he got his license, Couture said, he and Mary Lou headed for Yankee Harley-Davidson to pick out his present.
“I got a great wife,” boasted Couture. “She deserves a lot of credit. Every man should have a woman like her.”
Couture said he hasn’t been on any big road trips with his new Sportster, but has driven it out to see the foliage.
Some trips may be in the cards for spring, said Couture, who retired in July.
According to Couture, some drivers are doing a doubletake when they recognize him on the bike.
“I haven’t got a helmet yet, but I do wear head protection,” said Couture. “I’m very cautious.”

I hope he operates the bike better than he did the City of Bristol.
Although he operated good enough to get to where he was (which was a travesty in itself).

If Couture was riding around on a motorcycle without a helmet, that would explain a lot.

Cool...except for the no helmet part. I hope the guy is having the time of his life.

Senior moments. I think he looks like Peter Fonda with white short hair. He should wear a helmut however. Bad example for the yutes!
