Big downtown hearings on Saturday

Press notice from the BDDC:

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE WITH THE BRISTOL CENTRE MALL SITE
WE WANT YOUR THOUGHTS FOR THE FUTURE USE OF THIS SITE

The City of Bristol has purchased the Bristol Centre mall site and demolition of the building is
scheduled to begin by the end of 2007. The Bristol Downtown Development Corporation (BDDC)
has been created to coordinate new development on the site. With the construction of the Route 72
extension underway, the future for the mall site and the downtown looks bright. The people of
Bristol need to be part of the vision for the future. To provide the opportunity for people to be
involved, the BDDC has scheduled 5 workshops. Each of the workshops will cover the same
topics, so please choose the time and location most convenient for you. You are also invited to
attend a scheduled BDDC meeting to share your thoughts with the BDDC.

Nothing like the city giving enough advance notice for the Nov. 10 meetings.

It was in The Bristol Press on Tuesday.

Absolutely unreal - No need to complain because you didn't see the notice of the publicized November 10th meeting, stop trying to blame everyone else for your own shortcomings, take some initiative and attend one of the other sessions.

I doubt anyone will show up. A beautiful SAturday and a ton of leaves to rake.

As usual the citizens complain before the election acting as if they care, and only three people show up. Disgusting! Don't complain when the BDDC decides what goes there, because no one cared enough to voice their opinion.
