The official groundbreaking for the long-delayed Route 72 expansion project is slated for 11 a.m. in the Todd Street commuter lot. If it's like last time, that's the parking lot on the north side of Pine Street, pretty close to Pine Lake.
Gov. Jodi Rell is among the dignitaries slated to attend.
It's hard to believe this project is actually getting started soon. I sure hope it helps because it's going to create almost two years of construction craziness along an already congested route in and out of town.
