With no dissent, city councilors voted to seek the removal of Ocean State Job Lot from the downtown mall as quickly as possible. They're also seeking to get reimbursement for $235,000 in legal costs.
Councilor Frank Nicastro led the charge. He also told Mayor William Stortz it was "very disturbing" that councilors weren't told of the Supreme Court decision until they read it in the paper. He said it violated common courtesy.

Don't mess with my Ocean State Job Lot!
We should have a tailgate moving out party in the parking lot the day they leave.
What do you think Bill STortz will do with his "save ocean state job lot" tee shirt now?
Bill Stortz may be many things but at the end of the day he was dedicated to serving Bristol. I know this is hard but try to stay positive. Many disagree with the man and this is reflected in the fact the people stopped supporting him. Bill knows that and that's why is not running. But he did try to move the mall along and to get rid of Ocean State. So the true question will be what will he do with his "I love Bristol T-shirt".
It's interesting that some people will say that Stortz worked hard to get Ocean State out but nobody seems to remember how much he encouraged them to fight and aided them in the fight to stay in their downtown spot when Couture was in office and trying to get them out.
So really, Stortz was battling a war that he played a big role in kicking off.
$235K in legal fees plus expenses to move out...Frank what di we save by waiting six more months?
