SENATOR COLAPIETRO AND AREA LEGISLATORS TO TAKE PART IN TOWN HALL FORUM MARCH 26th IN BRISTOL ON BUDGET AND OTHER KEY ISSUES
Hartford – The co-chair of the General Assembly’s General Law Committee, Senator Thomas Colapietro (D-Bristol) will be holding a Town Hall Forum to provide an overview on Connecticut’s budget and give an update on the issues considered by the General Law Committee during the current legislative session. Representatives Betty Boukus (D-Plainville), Frank Nicastro (D-Bristol) and Christopher Wright (D-Bristol) are also planning to attend.
The Town Hall Forum will be held Thursday, March 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Bristol City Hall, 111 North Main Street, Bristol.
The forum will provide constituents will a chance to gain insight into the state budget and legislative process. There will be a brief presentation and time for the public to ask questions and give feedback to the members of the Bristol legislative delegation.
“The first part of the forum will be to talk about the budget and to take any ideas our constituents may have back to our leadership,” said Senator Colapietro. “This is my 17th session in the legislature and this is the most difficult budget process I’ve ever seen. Hopefully, the public will provide us with some ideas. I also have to praise my leadership for trying to get a fair budget for everybody.”
“I also want people to better understand the role of the General Law Committee and how important it is to them,” said Senator Colapietro. “Our committee has everything to do with consumers. We can draw that fine line and protect the consumers and the businesses as well.”

I am glad that Sen. Colapietro has decided at last to have a forum like Rep. Hamzy instead of staying home and watching TV. Now if Mr. Colapietro and his big spending friends would follow in Mr. Hamzy's footsteps all the time, our state would be much better off.
Hi Hate Monger "Concerned Conservative"
Puke your guts out.
Sounds like the same forum Bill Hamzy had!
Great original idea!!
Are they inviting their buddy Dodd? He knows all about finance.
CC:Will you show up,stand up and avail yourself of the oppurtunity to voice your opinion in a public forum? My guess is probably no.Afterall, why do that when you can spit out out your usual vitriol while hiding behind a curtain of anonymity on some blog site, right?Show yourself for once and take some responsibility for your remarks.
You can be certain I will attend and voice an opinion if I find it necessary. If you TRULY have the strength of your own convictions you will avail yourself of this oppurtunity.
Already went to Hamzy's forum, Gamache. You can go to this one and listen to what a good job the Democrats are doing spending all our hard-earned money.
This is hilarious! Let's do what Hamzy did, but instead of telling it like it is, we'll do a feel-good show!
Gamache doesn't go to Republican events, don't you know that?
Everybody knows Tim, I thought.
How come this blog allows faceless critics talk about Colapietro no matter what he does and they won't even identify themselves. And id Steve being partial toward him like them ?
Hmmm and prey tell what was learned at Hamzy's ? How great the few republicans are ?
Hey how many of you super know-it-alls were at the forum Colapietro put on at Eastern High School? None I bet. And I do believe that that was long before your love of life Hamzy's. That was for the Veterans and Seniors.
Really...Listening to Tommie "I'm going to sue you for ridiculing me on the blog" Colapietro talk about law should be enough to make anyone queazy. Listening to Nicastro and Wright talk about how they plan to bail the state out of the huge deficit the Democrats got us in in the first place...is a joke.
Gamache:
I have a nick-name for YOU so you can post anymously as well. It's "Pavlov's Dog".
You're so pathetic. You're also a hypocrite. Why don't you call out your anon buddies on the Democrat side who are constantly chiding, insulting and speaking of Republicans (Johnson and Cockayne especially) in a confrontational manner?
We are all so impressed by you anouncing so boldly who you are. Do you even own a motor vehicle? Do you do nothing but suck up to all the local-yokels?
And "Anonwestconn....":
You are a repugnant, naive, simple-mided twit who's obviously from hunger.
Again, I urge everyone to boycott this charade. But if you go, be careful what you say to "Tommie One-tone" (his one tone being the union agenda). He might sue you!
Sure, I want to go hear Colapietro tell us about how he's going to push for more "labor-friendly", anti-business legislation. That way the state government will, with the help of Connecticut's electorate, drive more jobs out of the state and make the problem of the deficit even harder to solve.
Boycott this "forum"!
Concerned Conservative we should boycott your stupid ideas not the forum. As far as your comments about people talking about Cockaye and Johnson in a confrontational manner. What do you expect when these two shoot their mouthes off and make complete fools of themselves. These RepubliKENS are a complete joke and should not be involved in Bristol politics.
Johnson and Cockayne are nothing but confrontational and they deserve any and all criticism they get. We can only hope the Republican't party can come up with another candidate for mayor to force a primary against Johnson.
To Concerned Citizen you won't go unless you have a laptop to bitch on.
You should go you might learn that many people don't think like a dictator like you.
Hey CC You haven't got the "GUTS" to go hear Colapietro cause then we'll know for sure who the wierdo is.
Tom can have all the forums he wants, but until he and like-minded legislators get real and stop blowing the taxpayers' money, they will continue to steer Connecticut in its downward spiral.
Since there is little chance of them changing their big-spending ways, the best we can do is vote them out of office at the first opportunity. Tom's not one of us anymore. He's lost touch.
CC You shouldn't attend you already know everything. I'm sure you're one of those AIG's or wannabes er I mean use ta be's.
anonwestconnstudent: You know what? You're right. People should attend this forum.
All we hear from these three politicians is how they are adept at dolling out free-bies such as education and healthcare. Those are nice things but there are also other imporant things that these four (espcially Colapietro, Boukus and Wright) do nothing for.
People who attend this forum should concentrate on the following ideas:
1) Fiscal restaint
2) A business friendly Connecticut which will result in the creation of jobs.
anaonwestconnstudent:
You are wrong in your "labeling" of me and/or my comments.
I have attended many forums in the past and have found almost all representatives from the Democrat delegation to be arrogant and un-bending (especially former Speaker Aman and former State Senator Murphy), especially when addressing business people. It's as if they know they're anti-business and there's nothing business can do about it. They have a "like it ot leave it" attitude, and the statistics show many businesses have chosen the latter.
concerned citizen has the nerve to call others "arrogant and unbending?"
wow, sure speaks well to the fact that Steve is truly open-minded and will allow even the most absurd, self-imposed opinions of onesself to be on this site.
wow AKA anon:
First, do you have a reading problem?
Socond, does one care more if I, an anonymous blog poster, or more if an elected law-maker is "unbending"?
Put things in perspective here please.
CC.....Prove your not just all mouth !
Concerned Citizen is the biggest phony and most biased THING that's ever been on here.
Can't fool anybody but himself.
March 22, 2009 5:51 AM:
6 to 8 is the evening not the "afternoon" you moron.
7:38
Clearly, CC "fooling himself": is easy.
But he doesn't fool most other people.
CC You actually work ??
OOPS call me some more names I made a mistake Concerned Consertive. Guess I'm not perfect like you !
CC your so damned smart ya oughta learn how to spell. Read your own nonsense.
Quite a few mean-spirited posts here that have nothing to do with the Colapietro forum.
I am going to go to this forum and ask some tough questions about our current situtaion in Hartford. I am curious as a business owner, republican, and taxpayer if any of these people will even give me the time of day? I am curious if they are going to cut one thing out of the state budget, or just play funny accounting and save the State labor unions and not the taxpayer. I hope not, but I expect as much from this group.
Tired Taxpayer why don't you go to the forum and ask or are you just using another Republican name and whining again with nothing constructive? Typical

I said I am going to attend and I have questions for these people and not sure what you are trying to say above. How is that statement constructive? I was at Hamzy's and now I want to hear this sides ideas, so I am going to attend, are you?
Right tired Citizen then we will see for sure who the babies are on here. Welcome to the world of the living.
I think "tired taxpayer " is "Concerned Conservative" They act the same. Now we will see if he has the guts to ask questions and I hope he has some real ideas. Although I doubt it !
I attended and it was nothing but an ego trip for colopietro, boukus, nicastro and wright, when he was awake.
didn't hear anything about my concerns about taxes or how the state is going to help us, what a farce.
I attended and I didn't hear anything about concerns except from one person. And I guess you weren't listening. And talk about ego it's obvious you only attended to see if you could find something to complain about. Especially when you put us in this mess. I didn't hear anything constructive from you !Pointing the finger at every one else doesn't accomplish anything but I guess your kind can't see that!
And how many times do I have to tell you Colapietro is spelled"Colapietro"
Funny the flyers and the papers and this blog said they were looking for ideas as well. I attended and I only heard a couple of people(three) make their case for their causes, I didn't hear one idea from anyone.
