A thank you to Gov. Rell

I got a chance today to thank Gov. Jodi Rell for her help in trying to secure a new owner for The Bristol Press, a necessity which has been on my mind for a long while.
She's the one who made it possible for the state economic development leader to make calls and lend a hand.
While the effort on the state level did not directly lead to Mike Schroeder's decision to buy the paper, it contributed to the hoopla around the paper's imminent closure and might have made it more likely that the news pieces that did help were written at all.
In any case, Rell did what we asked from her and that means something. I will always be grateful for that.

As a conservative, I find Rell anything but ideal, but she certainly is much better than the Democrat alternative, notably Susan Bysiewicz, Aman, or Blumenthal.

That's giving her a piece of your mind, Steve!
