New owner has a place to live, but we don't know where yet

The Waterbury Republican-American has this story today about the imminent completion of the deal to buy The Bristol Press and four other papers.

Thanks, Steve!

I trust this source more than the Mayor.

Although, when lawyers start to muck up the details, anything can happen!

And why is he leasing an apartment? Wasn't he going to become a permanent part of the community? Leases can easily be broken. Hmmmmm....

I wouldn't buy a house right away if I were him. Why not figure out the community first?

" Why the secrecy for Schroeder? He's said he wants the communities to take ownership of the papers and wants the papers to be partners with the community, yet his primary investor doesn't want anyone to know who he is and now Schroeder himself won't say which city he's going to live in. If he wants the communities to embrace the papers, shouldn't he be as forthcoming as possible with them to build a sense of trust? "

Can you give the man the opportunity to at least own the paper before you start ragging on him?

The Bristol Press is the only newspaper I've ever subscribed to. Although I don't buy the paper much anymore (I don't care for the reporting enough to buy it), I'm glad the Press will still be around. I believe with hard work and some new ideas, the new owner will be successful. I wish him luck. I am glad he is planning on moving to Bristol. It's a decent little city/suburb.
