Nicastro calls gay marriage decision "final" even if he doesn't like it

State Rep. Frank Nicastro, a Bristol Democrat, said that given the 4-3 margin of the state Supreme Court ruling, there are clearly “still a lot of questions” and some “very strong concern” surrounding the issue of gay marriage.

But, he said, “Their decision is final. We live in a democracy and that’s how they’ve ruled.”

Nicastro said he did not support gay marriage in the legislature and would have liked the court to come down in favor of civil unions, which Gov. Jodi Rell and the General Assembly backed.

Is it a democracy? Not the way the founding fathers intended it, IMHO.
Shouldn't the legislative branch CREATE the law and the judicial branch make rulings based on law? I don't think it is good or constitutional for that matter, that judges legislate from the bench.

I agree with 9:14, AND it doesn't have to be final. A constitutional convention is more democratic and can change the law to marriage being only between a man and a woman. Vote to have a convention on your Nov. 4 ballot.

You can support this, Frank; there is no reason to lie down and play dead.
