State Rep. Frank Nicastro, a Bristol Democrat, said that given the 4-3 margin of the state Supreme Court ruling, there are clearly “still a lot of questions” and some “very strong concern” surrounding the issue of gay marriage.
But, he said, “Their decision is final. We live in a democracy and that’s how they’ve ruled.”
Nicastro said he did not support gay marriage in the legislature and would have liked the court to come down in favor of civil unions, which Gov. Jodi Rell and the General Assembly backed.
