State GOP eyes Colapietro

No surprise to anyone watching the 31st District state Senate race this year, but the state GOP thinks it may be able to knock off state Sen. Tom Colapietro, a Bristol Democrat.
Democrats control two-thirds of the Senate's 36 seats and no matter what happens to Colapietro, the Republicans will almost certainly still be outnumbered. The GOP's legislative clout is so paltry that even a big win for Republicans in General Assembly races this fall is only going to make a little dent in the Democrats' control.
Jason Welch, an attorney, is taking on Colapietro for the Republicans.

Jason Welch only has a 26% chance of winning

Buh Bye Tommie!

So stephen .... what you are telling us is no matter what the citizens want , the unions will still have us by the testes .

Anonymous said...

So because you think Democrats will still be in the majority, we should vote for Mr. Death Penalty is a Joke? The guy who calls his opponent an "android"? I've listened to Tom scream and cry for years, now I've had more than enough. I don't care if my Senator is the ONLY Republican, at least I will have a voice.

If Colapietro could be beat, TJ would have run.

I encourage all people to read this blog just so you can see the faceless cowards Welch and his friends are. And you 2:42 may have a voice but you'll never have a face. Cause you are "useless"

I'm A Democrat and I Hope That Jason Welch Takes Colapietro's Seat!

2:42 Will you please name one time Senator Colapietro screamed and hollared? I can't find one. Are you lying again?

Anonymous said...

12:40 Only if you have them.

Anonymous said...

2:42 If you could read as good as you lie you would know what he meant . But it's just the same old rhetorical lies. Most people with a name and face knew what he meant so keep on lying so everyone can see what you are like.

What is all this "unions having us by the testes" crap? If it weren't for unions, the majority of workers in this country would be working in horrid conditions with paltry wages. Wake up and open your eyes and stop making the unions scapegoats for everything wrong in this country because Wall Street plays a HUGE part in what's happened to the economy ... not the unions! Last time I checked the unions weren't getting bailouts from the government.

If being in the private sector stinks, then get a union job but even those are scarce seeing as how they are being so vilified jobs are being cut there, too. They are not exempt from this economy! I'm self-employed but I'm not about to blame the unions for all that is wrong with this country. It starts from the top down. If you don't like what's happening, start cleaning house on Nov. 2.

p.s. I've NEVER heard colapietro cry about anything. Again, more slanderous lies. Please tell me what he has done wrong. GIVE US THE FACTS!!!

12:17 PM/Lone Colapietro Lover Guy:

If you've never heard of Jason Welch, then you obviously live in a hole underground somewhere. That would explain why you'd support Colapietro!

You should pay more attention . General Motors .... Chrysler ... Teachers Unions ... Stimulus for "job ready" projects .

Those are just a few off the top of my head .ALL bailouts to the unions ....

12:17 Well you heard of him ONLY from your hole in the ground. And obviosly that's where you found them. I never heard of him before $$$$$$$$$$$$$ came into the election. What's his claim to fame? LOL Never heard of him. I would like to ask a real question How and when did you hear of him? It's OK we aren't stupid like you think. We are not liars like you .

Anonymous said...

6:51 PM, Perhaps I misspoke. You do appear to have your head in a hole, but not in the ground. Sorry, my bad!

Anonymous said...

6:39 You must be real dumb or ignorantly biased. All those you named are companies that out sourced just about everything and looked for cheaper labor to increase their profits. I don't know of one CEO that didn't live high on the hog. Like you.

It's not necessary to know a candidate for years and years. It does help sometimes in making your decision, however. Knowing Colapietro for the last 30 years has convinced me that he should be replaced by a worthy opponent. This year that opponent has arrived, and we should seize the opportunity for better representation. Vote for JASON!

Anonymous said...

What we know of you isn't half as bad as knowing Colapietro or Welch. I don't believe you knew Colapietro for 30 years. After all you do lie all the time.9:29 Your just plain "uselessd" as usual. No credablity.

Vote Colapietro "He's one of us" not a newbe.

Anonymous said...

Sorry 6:24. Colapietro isn't "one of us." The majority of us want to see justice for the Petit family. Vote for Jason Welch. It's time for a change.

6:22 - have mommy write your postings for you next time - guess she must tie your shoe laces for you also, snookums?

Anonymous said...

I know Tom and like him. But, sorry to say, it is time for him to go.

He is not one of "us" any more. He has become a rubber stamp for his party.

Anonymous said...

Tommy's negative mailers are the worst I have ever seen. Being negative is not going to help you.

Anonymous said...

7:32 No oine said he was one of you. I don't think he is but he IS oene of us and thank god he's not one of you, Vote Tom Colapuetro

Anonymous said...

6:24 So justice should be for the Petit family if you vote for Welch? what's he going to do ? Vote Tom Colapietro he doesn't lie like you. And you ought to be ashamed to use this tragedy for your own self interests. Shame ! Does Welch approve this message?

Ignorance is the most dangerous threat to our society. Many of the comments on this blog back up this statement.
There are simple facts that nobody can deny. Our private sector has taken a huge blow and CANNOT support and sustain the public sector. The Democrats represent the public sector; the Republicans represent the private sector. If we don't balance out the representation right away, we will be bankrupt. Don't you people care about your childrens' futures? Unions cannot wield the power they have had. They MUST be willing to negotiate in this new economical environment we live in. It is not going away anytime soon because we keep acquiring more debt to deal with the problems that exist. This just keeps moving it down the road.

Stick a fork in him, Colapietro's time is done. His disasterous mismanagement of our funds has put our children's and grandchildren's future in jeopardy. Jason Welch will stop the financial madness. We can't afford not to vote for him.

Anonymous said...

2:31 I would tell you where to stick your fork but I'm a lot nicer than you. Vote Tom Colapietro "he's one of us"

12:55 You sound like an insurance agent or a realtor that sells insurance . Are you ?

Anonymous said...

October 20, 2010 5:50 PM:

You sound like a selfish, ignorant public employee. Are you?

Anonymous said...

Thank you, 12:55. That's the bottom line. All this stuff about pens and a company down south and owning the empire state building is nothing but fluff. Voters, your choices WILL affect all of us. We can spiral downward by spending money we don't have, or we can start being fiscally responsible and get the economy healthy again. It's in your hands. Vote Republican!

Anonymous said...

10:57 You're right but the truth hurts don't it. I'm glad he hit you babies back because you have been doing it to him for a long time. At least he is willing to put his name out there. Not like you though!

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah don't try to insult the voters any more. "Go Tom Colapietro" "He's one of us"

Anonymous said...

Gee 10:27 I didn't know he owned the Empire State Building? He must have a lot of money !

Anonymous said...

Never happen and tell these jerks the American Dream isn't knocking off Colapietro, he's done plenty of good even though these jerks won't admit it. Truth

Anonymous said...

2:40 Nice try but we aren't as stupid as you. The businesses you named aren't Union. Just their workers. Duh !

Anonymous said...

11:08 You mean like you the rubber stamp for your GOP?

Anonymous said...

Gee what would you guys do if Steve decides not to provide a crying towel for you like this blog? Commit suicide? I know you won't start your own blog because it take a lot of time and effort. On the other hand you'll have a lot of time on your hands.
