Whoosjasonwelch.com

Candidates do goofy things to get noticed.
Take state Senate contender Jason Welch, for example, who's going to spend the next couple of Saturdays wearing one of those silly plastic glasses and nose things and holding a sign touting a website named www.whoosjasonwelch.com.
Believe it or not, a bunch of family, friends and Republicans are going to lend him a hand.
"We'll have lots of fun," Welch promised the GOP town committee the other day.
He said it was time "to liven up" the 31st District campaign while simultaneously building name recognition, a key piece of politics.
Personally, I can think of better ways to have fun, but doing odd things is probably a job requirement for setting foot in the state Senate so we can forgive Welch for a little silliness.
As he said, it's better than talking about "the parade of horribles" that's going on in Hartford these days.
Anyway, if you see a guy in funny plastic glasses by the side of the road, it's probably just Welch. Wave to him as you blow past him on the way to something better.

C'mon Steve, we don't have anyone better. Thanks for the heads up though. My friends and I will be there with Jason Welch on Saturday. And we'll be having fun while we work to get an intelligent representative of the people into that State Senate seat. You can thank us on your way to Walmart or whatever fun place you're going to.

I guess running for Senate when he just got here is a joke to him. Wow what a guy! Check with TJ and his hacks and see what else he can think of.

Wow! Are there no depths to which Republicans will stoop these days?

A stooge like this deserves nothing other than the ol' one finger salute for such a desperate stunt. He must be one of those crazy tea party patriots.

Thanks for the heads up, Steve!

Well isn’t that just dandy…we now have a foolish little twit running for the Republican State Senate seat…he’s going to wear funny glasses and flit around town for name recognition. He probably thinks the job is going to be one big fun house ride at the Capital! What a sorry attitude for the serious times most of us average “Joes” are desperately trying to struggle through. Doesn’t he realize that people are homeless, jobless, pension- less, stripped of their 401Ks/savings to get by and he’s making a joke?! Well I guess that’s what you get when you get some newbie-to-town multi-millionaire that doesn’t even know what the people of these towns need, how they live or how they struggle to get by. He obviously holds the average people of this town in distain. Shame on you Jason!

8:01 - Actually, I think it's kind of clever.

Its great to know that someone honest and true to the tax payers is running for office. I like the idea that there is someone that is not catering to special interest or unions.

Tea Party! Just the beginning! stay tuned!

No, Steve. Clever would have been if Welch were to also wear a toupee as part of his costume.

11:12 That's all you think honesty is ? I guess you don't know too much either. Just more silly biased republican stunts. Ho Hum !

Nice to see Jason and his supporters out greeting the people!

Saw Welch at the Duck Race: but did not see any Republicans standing along side him.

Are they with him?

As I said before and it wasn't posted! Greeting? That should make a good representative!(not) How about standing with a elephant like the Republican did in Wolcott?
