Blondie's vandalized

Vandals have struck Blondie’s Grill for the past couple of nights.
Perhaps in response to a plea by downtown restaurants for city help in forcing street vendors to move out, vandals have hit Blondie’s for two nights in a row, according to Sarah Vickers, one of the owners. CLICK HERE FOR STORY

I hope so does catch the person(s) responsible during the act and pops em.

If there is any wonder why no business in Bristol survives, this is a perfectly good example.

Thank you to George Carpenter for escalating the situation with that stunt he pulled "on behalf" of the restaurants. With friends like that who needs enemies?

Interesting ..... Blondies attacks street vendors then has a problem with vandals and blames the vendors they obviously are jealous of . America used to be a free market place where you were innocent until proven guilty . I have no proof where the problem lies , but , it does seem to begin @ blondies and the pizza joint.

What a shame. These women have done a great job making their establishment attractive and inviting. I hope they catch the buffoons responsible for the vandalism and punish them to the fullest extent of the law...jerks.

Kids are on vacation from school - they could be out having a "good time" rasing a little hell. I think it was irresponsible for the press to join this vandalism to the street vendor issue unless there is direct evidence that they are connected, which was not mentioned in the article. And if she's carrying a gun now, I won't be going out to eat there. She's obviously off her rocker and could shoot at anything.

Pretty brazen that someone or a group of someones can do that much damage so close to the PD.

However, I'm not going there anytime soon if they are shooting first and asking questions later.

Interesting...Blondies attacked street vendors??? Wow, I don't remember reading that headline. They may have voiced their opinion about them, but America used to be a place where you could voice your opinion freely. It also used to be a place where you didn't have to fear retaliation for doing so.

As far as "jealous" goes, that'd be a real stretch. A greasy, nasty food cart might make you green, but certainly NOT with envy.

Not mine, what you really don't have is a clue. The problem lies with the idiots who either exhibit or condone this type of bullying, assinine behavior...like yourself.

Not with the Bristol police. THERE TO BUSY ON CONSTRUCTION JOBS. The mayor needs to ban cell phones and let them start directing traffic. I dont beleive they realize thats why there hired. Not to do nothing.

"However, I'm not going there anytime soon if they are shooting first and asking questions later."

a) You probably didn't go there anytime anyway.
b) Stop exaggerating. No one said anything about shooting first and asking questions later (except you). The owners are angry, frustrated and frightened, and rightfully so.
c) In our Country, a person has the right to bear arms. The vandalism and violence is escalating and the owner has every right to protect herself and her property...at least that's what our Constitution says.

I blame Carpenter.

re: criticism of the roach coaches/lunch wagons

you gotta' be careful and really shouldn't "take rice out of someone else's rice bowl"

I'm sure the vandalism has more to do with the type of kids that live in the downtown area more than the vendors. Even before Blondies expressed concern over the competition they were getting from the vendors they were being vandalized. It comes with the nature of being a downtown business, on a street corner with a vacant house behind it being used by squatters and for drug activity.

There should be a city ordinance that allows the vendors but so many feet from a business. They both have a right to do business here but not at someone elses expense. Call it competition if you want but it is still unfair for those who are struggling to make a honest living. If you don't like their food don't go there.

````````````````
Would someone PLEASE explain to this 'gentleman' that I NEVER condoned the vandalism .
Apparently he must be a national socialist democrat that attacks someone whenever a valid point is made rather than a rational debate.
Not mine, please don't flatter yourself. You haven't made a "valid point" in eons. Since when is insinuation and accusation "valid?" Blondies is "jealous?" The problem "seems to begin @ blondies and the pizza joint?" Oh pleeezzzeee, save the gossip for bingo night with your cronies...
Actually, I am there usually once a week when they are open. I love their burgers. I'm not happy with the owners admitting to "packing heat" if I'm going to take my kids there with me. She's angry which makes her trigger happy and a little unstable. Not someone I want to be around.
It's vandalism in an area of the City that has shady people living around it. It's most likely bored kids. Step up police in the area and get a camera. Not much else you can do. But getting a gun and taking matters into your own hands is just asking for trouble.
Anger makes her trigger happy and a little unstable? Oh please, spare us your junior pscyhology. Of course she's angry. Someone is targeting her and her establishment, something she's worked long and hard to build. I'd think she was unstable if she wasn't angry. Are you aware of exactly how many city business owners carry guns for their own protection? Before you go accusing Blondie's owner of being "unstable" for wanting to protect herself and her business, maybe you find out how many places you frequent where the owners are equally "unstable."
I am a business owner and had to deal with drug addicts breaking into my business. i carried a gun at all times mainly to protect myself from a drug addict who could do anything me or my workers under the influence. maybe your you have never been robbed before and we know what it feels like to be a target. besides she probably is a great shot. Besides that I eat at blondies every week the owners are very pleasant and friendly. they have a great patio to sit outside and patrons are friendly hanging around. They have something for everyone to enjoy including the fresh cut fries. this is a must try restaurant for a great family experience! They improved the look in bristol. The curious guy: where did you get your education do you think the city of bristol doesn't do their homework for grants "you idiot"
