Shifting toward the GOP?

Though it may mean nothing, during the past month, 18 people have switched their party registrations in Bristol.
Republican Registrar Sharon Krawiecki said 15 of them were Democrats or independents who signed up with the GOP.
There were just three Republicans who dumped their party.

Maybe someone is planning to run.

Good way to start to build a base.

Can't help but wonder if it has something to do with Stortz now gone!!

Normally I'd say I'm sad to see them joining the GOP but hopefully it's to vote for Peter Schiff in the primary.

6:13 PM, More like thank you President Obama.

A blip on the radar.

Had it been 300 switching parties, then it would be news worthy.

This type of activity happens regularly.

It's not newsworthy. It's blogworthy.
But I'd be shocked if the GOP has had such a shift in any month in many years in Bristol, particularly when the Democrats also face interesting primaries ahead.

Steve is correct the writing is on the wall.

From what I read and hear, I don'think Stortz is gone.

Everyone complains about the bad shape Bristol is in. Democrats have ruled Bristol. You do the math.

Fifteen people switching to vote in a primary doesn't mean squat. Maybe they switched to become informants for the Democratic party. That happens much more than people realize. It's a way to learn political strategies from the inside and it's being done throughout the country. Some things aren't always what they appear to be. Beware!

Anyone hear any talk about an Independent run?

3:41, Not EVERYONE complains about Bristol. The recession may have knocked some of the wind out of our sails, but hopefully things will get better and it'll be clear sailing from here on. Bristol's future is looking better than ever!

More and more people are waking up. We are overtaxed and overgoverned. Hopefully this is just a little wave before the tsunami.

Don't count on it April 29, 2010 9:06 AM.

This so-called "Tea party revolution" is actually dividing the GOP and Independents; as a result, the Democratic party is already benefitting from the division and in fighting.

We Democrats are united behind our President, well-financed with a 50 million dollar war chest, organized better than ever, and more than ready for the very limited challenge by this fringe faction.

Bring it on!

haven't heard of any calls for crowd-control at the registrars office so I wouldn't assume that moccabee can finally believe that his chances to ever win political office any time soon have increased. Thank goodness.

Does that include his buddies Schaffrick, Barnes and Krawiecki?

Democrats, Republicans, Tea Partiers and unaffiliates are ALL feeling like our elected officials are not representing us. Patriots come from every party, and include many who have never been interested in politics before. They will take this country back from the socialists.

They were probably some poor dopes that the Republican party convinced they were going to lower their taxes...what dopes. You think those rich Republicans are going to take care of the poor, struggling, young or old and disabled Americans? Hah! The Republicans have always and will always take care of the rich.

Socialists? Give me a break!

You've been watching too much FAUX News April 29, 2010 8:18 PM. It seems to be making you very unfair and very unbalanced, just like all the other Kool-Aid drinkers like yourself.

But congratulations are in order, since you've just posted one of the most nonsensical posts ever on this blog! Rush and Sarah would be so proud of you.

Yes, exactly... socialists. Pull your head out of the sand and look at what's been going on. We need to get back to basics, back to the Constitution.

Didn't think it was possible, but you've just outdone yourself by replying with an even more nonsensical post.

Your weak brain is being manipulated by misinformation. You may want to do some research and try thinking for yourself for once in your life rather than simply regurgitating what you hear.

If the Constitution was being violated, then the third branch of the government (Judicial) would be pursuing the violation as part of the "checks and balances" process put into the Constitution by the founders of this country.

All this talk about constitutional violations is a bunch of crapola! Are you aware the sitting President of the United States is a scholar of constitutional law? If anyone should know when the Constitution is being trashed, it's President Barack Hussein Obama who swore to uphold the Constitution when he was inaugurated!

12:40, I hate to break it to you, but you're the one who's drowning in the Kool-Aid. Your raging support of a president whose performance has been lackluster at best reminds me of the Hitler youth of yesteryear.

Apparently there's no hope for you May 1, 2010 8:50 AM, you're so blinded by bullshit that you can't see the facts.

If President Obama's performance has been lackluster, which I don't believe it has, then look no further than the lack of cooperation from the GOP. The President has been trying to fix the previous mess left by the Republican's!

He's doing a great job and building up steam to the biggest goal of his administration: review and revision of the tax codes. Time for change! The rich bahstids are going to pay! And it's long overdue!
