McCauley injured in line of duty

City Councilor Kevin McCauley, a Bristol firefighter, apparently shattered his ankle on a fire call over the weekend, according to a couple of colleagues.
McCauley slipped on some black ice while responding to a Middle Street fire call, they said, and went down with all of his gear on.
Mayor Art Ward told the crowd at tonight's downtown hearing that McCauley was on a call and broke his ankle.
He's said to be in real pain and facing some pretty serious reconstruction surgery.
I'll try to talk to McCauley Tuesday to get the real story. Let's hope he's back on his feet soon.

With Mccauley out of action, will Ward try to take advantage of his absense and get Dunlap appointed tot the Finance Board? That would be very sneeky.

4:41 - hope that you don't lay awake at night with all of these huge worries - being afraid of the dark can be effectively treated big fella.

Would be just like Ward to try something like that!

Guess he can't put that one in his mouth for awhile.

Mcauley gets hurt fighting a fire and next thing you know the Press gets ahold of it and people are attacking him for it? Having been associated with him for a while, I can state that he didn't go looking for the coverage nor did he look to get hurt. I'm sure that Steve Collins will back that information up.
I'm baffled and disgusted with some people in this town. They will take any and every opportunity to attack an elected official, but attacking someone who has been genuinely hurt on the job is really low.
He and any one of the other firefighters might some day save your you know what so I would suggest you keep your nasty opinions to yourself. I give credit to each and every one of these folks that puts their life on the line every day including the police department. You couldn't pay me enough to run into a burning building or approach a car that might have some idiot with a loaded gun in it. Those men and women have more courage in their little finger than you do in your whole body, that's for sure.

McCauleys vote doesn't matter UNLESS he supported Dunlop!
