The unexpected death of 23-year-old Courtney Hei-Ra Smith of Bristol caused organizers planning to crown a Miss Litchfield County to postpone tonight's pageant in Thomaston, according to a story in the Waterbury Republican-American.Smith was a 2004 graduate of Bristol Eastern High School who had been studying economics and business administration at Eastern Connecticut State University.
The cause of her death wasn't disclosed, but the Waterbury paper said it followed an unidentified illness.
Calling hours are Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, with the funeral on Monday.

It's sad to see someone so young suddenly die.
