TV alert - Ward to appear on the idiot box Sunday

For those who aren't in church or sleeping off a hangover, Mayor Art Ward will appear on Channel 3's "Face the State" at 11 a.m. Sunday.
He said he'll on during a short segment with state Rep. Brian Flaherty, a Watertown Republican, and state Sen. David Cappiello, a Danbury Republican who's taking on U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy in this year's congressional race.
But Ward wasn't debating them or anything.
"I basically talked about economic development in Bristol," Ward said, including the mall, the new industrial park and Route 72.
"It's exciting living in Bristol right now. It's exciting being the mayor right now with all the prospects for the immediate future," Ward said he told the cameras.

Update: Ward just issued this press release:
Mayor Arthur J. Ward was a guest of the television show, Face the State on Thursday, January 10, 2008. Face the State is a locally viewed show produced by WFSB, Channel 3.
Hosted by Susan Raff, the Mayor was invited to speak about economic development in the City of Bristol. Topics discussed were the newly developed Bristol Downtown Development Corporation, the demolition of the Centre Mall, the long awaited Route 72 expansion and the progress of Southeast Bristol Business Park.
The pre-recorded episode will air on Sunday, January 13th at 11:00 am.

I hope he was at least sober . ;-)

Well, at least he can sober up. Unfortunately for you, poster 1031 - stupid is forever...

A rewrite of the headline might prove interesting.

.....10:31, between your ignorant statements and collins' inflammatory posting, it is a wonder that anyone would even think about volunteering to contribute any time in this community.
wonder how involved that either of you are in your community activities or are you only committed to "people-bashing?"

Great, now our community's embarassment will be broadcast to the region as a whole. I have to hope that viewership at this time slot is not very high.

8:13, I think people like you who contantly bash and undermine our city officials are a whole lot more embarrassing than anything the Mayor could say or do on TV. I have to hope that viewership to this blog is not very high...

.....8:13, it is quite apparent that your lack of self-esteem might best be displayed by looking through a broken mirror - grow up.

GOOD JOB

...The Mayor did a great job. His optimism is infectious. I hope it catches on with some of the naysayers...

...Poster 8:35, I know Mr. Mayor used big words that you probably didn't understand. It's okay. You can go back and watch Jerry Springer now...that's probably more your speed.

The problem is he uses big words that HE doesn't understand.

...Mr Ward is a pretty articulate guy and I think he expressed himself quite clearly. The problem is that some people just don't want to listen...all they want to do is bash, bash, bash...Jerry Springer mentality at its best...

Mayor Ward did an excellent job and that drives the nay-sayers crazy.

You may not agree with him politically... I know that I don't...but he did a fine job representing Bristol on the show.
