City Council at 7:30 tonight...

... might get interesting.
I'll try to live blog at least a little bit, though it's kind of hard when I also have to write stories for tomorrow's paper at the same time, while also paying attention.
Among the possible points of dispute are the membership of the mayor's new Park Revitalization Committee and the possible reappointment, or not, of Jonathan Rosenthal, the city's economic development director, which appears likely to come up for a vote again (ready to cast a tiebreaker, Art?).
So check back this evening and see if there's anything getting posted, if you're one of the few who care what the council does. And don't hesitate to ask questions about what's going on, if you have any. I may get a chance to get them answered, as the dutiful public servant that I try to be. (Really, I like the questions people ask me to ask, because my brain is half dead after listening to these guys yack for a few hours.)

I am sure Minor will whine about the appointments. Seems odd how the rest of the coucilmen, Block & Cockayne who don't even know nelligan and defilipi have comments to say on them. Just proves a point they are listening to Minor and Mccauley, who don't like the park commissioners because Minor and Mccauley will never have what those have - HONESTy & INTEGRITY.

Your brain at half-dead is far superior to anything else at City Hall, Steve. Keep up the good work!

What time is the meeting?

Few council members need to put their personal feelings aside and do what is right for Bristol.

I added the time to the headline on this post, but the City Council session begins at 7:30 p.m. Before that, at 7:15, there's a Joint Board meeting that includes city councilors and the Board of Finance.

1 Why duz it take 6 mos. to find out what the balance of last years budget is? 2 When is the fence at WILSON PARK going to get fixed ? It looks like its in bad shape.

I said all along that Cockayne was and is a pawn of Zoppo(ergo Minor and McCauley).
Ain't gonna change.

Rosenthal gets reappointed: he cut a deal with Artie,.

Are we having fun yet?

who loves themselves more than Lori Defillippi and Pat Nelligan, veterans extradorinare.

Guess the first poster was way off base. No one whined about the appointments except for reappointing Rosenthal, which is justifiable. As far as honesty and integrity, you certainly don't know what the words mean. McCauley is a straight shooter and only votes his conscience. If he feels there's something wrong with someone on a committee, there's a good reason for it. The only axes that I see people grinding are the ones coming from the supporters of the mayor, which is interesting since it seems as if Artie is attempting to mend fences. Too bad his followers aren't doing the same.

I love people who put the cart before the horse. Here you're assuming these people aren't getting reappointed yet the meeting hasn't even begun. Steve, why even bother giving people a rundown of what's scheduled? You know they'll accuse and ridicule even though nothing has transpired yet. Why don't the naysayers just wait until the end to make their stupid, self-serving comments?

First poster ... you are clearly an Artie supporter! You assumed they would not support the appointment of DeFillipi and Nelligan and guess what? Much to your chagrin, they did! Try withholding your self-serving, inaccurate comments until the meeting plays out. Wrongfully accusing people of doing things they haven't done is unjustified and just perpetuates negativity which we're all tired of seeing.
