The clock really did stop in Bristol

I know many people think the clock stopped in Bristol half a century ago, but it hasn't been that long.
On the side of City Hall is a peculiar-looking clock that's been stuck at 6 for weeks or maybe months. It's only right twice a day, which probably makes it one of the more accurate functions of city government.
But officials have noticed that it's not moving.
"The clock on the wall no longer works," Assistant Public Works Director George Wallace told the Building Committee last week.
Officials have plans to spend about $4,500 to replace the clock's innards one of these days.
Given that Bristol is known in the rest of the world for clocks and ESPN, it's probably not such a good idea to have a dead clock on the outside wall of City Hall.
It doesn't send quite the message that our leaders want.

But it does send the message about our government that its critics make.

It's all Ellen's fault. She must have scripted the clock malfunction before leaving office to make Art Ward look bad.

Broken works inside and outside. Ellen is absolutely to blame. She should be called back and made to assume her City Council seat in order to fix everything that has gone wrong in the last 3 months.

Steve - do you or Jackie plan on doing a story on the High Street condemnation and the Summer Street condemnation?

I'd also like to see something on the major drug bust on Buckley Street this past Saturday night. I know that isn't your line of coverage, but maybe you could convince Amy to do something to let people know what's going on.

$4,500 in a town that is home to The American Clock & Watch Museum? We can't get a few horologists from the museum to pop the guts out, give it a bloody good fix-em-up and stick them back in?

What is this clock, Big Ben? Big Bill? Big Art? Big Ellen?

This must be Bill's doing. He was right twice a day. First when he decided to go home, then again when he actually went.
