BRISTOL – After an external review, the Bristol Adult Resource Center once again received a three-year accreditation.
The accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities recognizes BARC as having the highest standards of performance, according to Rosemarie Cassin, director of BARC.
“We’re really very pleased,” said Cassin. “It was a lot of effort by everyone.”
Cassin said the review, conducted late last year, looked at community service, housing, job development and other programs offered by BARC.
The accreditation period lasts until November 2010.
Headquartered at 621 Jerome Ave., BARC is a non-profit agency serving Bristol, Southington, Watertown, Farmington, Plainville, Unionville since 1957.
“We serve about 140 men and women,” said Cassin.
The agency, which employs 130 workers – full-time, part-time and substitutes – has a second location on Lake Avenue.
BARC has been accredited since 1986, said Cassin, and ever since then, the agency has gotten the maximum, three-year term each time its been reviewed.
“It’s a three-day, on-site evaluation,” said Cassin. “They look at most programs.”

BARC is most deserving of this and all of the recognition that is bestowed upon them. Ronnie Cassin, her staff, volunteers, members and workers provide a most valuable service in promoting and recognizing the abilities of one of the most deserving segments of our society.
"to provide the worth is to provide the truth."

.....This piece, which exemplifies the positiveness of one of our most invaluable services, has been posted since January 18th but only one person, me, felt that it was important enough to respond to? just proves my point about the negative mentality of the bloggers on this site - shame on you all.

This piece was a SNOOZER, that's why no one posted. Cassin is another political hack.

The piece wasn't about Ronnie Cassin, it was about BARC, the organization. Have you ever taken the time yo stop there and witness their programs such as the flower/garden program, the luncheon program, which are both open to the public, or seen the crews of employees who work there and throughout the community? What an absolute shame that statements such as yours flow so fluidly without the benefit of mop-up crews.
