Hire John Rowland

Former Gov. John Rowland was always nice to me -- and never hit me up for gold coins or anything -- so I figured I'd do him a little favor now that he's kind of down and out.
If you're looking to hire an inspirational speaker to talk at an otherwise dull gathering, you might want to check out www.jgrowland.com and perhaps help Rowland pay his bills.

Rowland saved this state from being bankrupted by the Democrats. He was sure a lot better than the alternative; Bill Curry, John Larson, John DiStephano, or Ella, O'Neil or any other imaginable Democrat alternative in reagrds to making Connecticut a business friendly, pro-growth state. He wasn't perfect in any means (obviously) and I include the aformentioned topics included. But Connecticut would be in worse shape if a labor-orientated, union-controlled Democrat was the Governor.
Bush should pardon Rowland. Then Rowland should run for Mayor of Bristol. I still look up to you John!

Rowland is from Waterbury so, even if he could, would be unlikely to run for mayor of Bristol. Mayor of Waterbury is another question. He would fit right in Waterbury's history of felonious mayors.

As far as I recall, Rowland lives in West Hartford now.

Darn, you can't even make light of the ex-governor and convict Rowland without some humorless stick in the mud attempting to correct you.

Rowland may live in West Hartford but he is from Waterbury, his political home for his entire career. He hails from a political environment famed for the corruption and criminality of its elected officials. Maybe I am wrong but I seem to recall hearing about two mayors in the last 20 or so years sent to jail. In the last year or so a Waterbury City councilman resigned after killing a woman while driving drunk. Of course, there may be more.

No doubt, my facts will be vetted and I will be found in error on some minor technicality. Perhaps its been two mayors in 25 years or councilman left office two years ago.

I guess I just wish folks would just lighten up.

But this is Bristol and if Rowland was Mayor of Bristol it would allow me better access as to support him (as he deserves).

It seems like we are too tolerant of our elected officials ethics, and then we scream when it comes out that they have done something wrong and our city, our state, our nation gets a black eye.
If the only way to get a job done is to be dishonest, we do have a problem.

It usually starts small: that is when it has to be stopped.

Where will it all end?

Does Rowland have a Real Estate license?

There is always work in Bristol.
