Anything that gets him out of Bristol is a good thing.

I agree: getting him out of Bristol can only help Bristol.

Will he take Schaffrick with him?

What has Mocabee ever won???

Congrats Art! Good luck!

Congratulations Art! It's an honor to be appointed to this and he's spent a lot of his free time working for the Republican Party for years. He deserves this. Actually he probably deserves better because it's like being given command of the 7th Cavalry. You're doomed to lose.

My my all you Republican haters! Art has done a lot for the party. If you were a member of the party you would know this. But, it really seems by your comments your not. Lets look at what he has done. We have a Republican at the State level, we just had a republican mayor and we have 2 republican city council members. Art played a huge role in making this all happen. Who ever fills Arts shoes will have some big shoes to fill.

I don't think Art was the Chair when the last Republican Mayor was elected.

The State Republicans need a sucker to go through the motions in the 1st District. They are smart, why should they waste someone good on a hopeless job.

Didn't Ed Krawicki put a gag order on Art during the last Stortz election? Remember, not one letter, not one comment. Stortz has been heard on more than one occassion in city hall saying Mocabee was not the best choice for the RTC. For years the word on the street has been that Art does more to help the Dems in town than the Reps.

Good Riddance The republicans can keep him.

To those defenders of Art Mocabee. I am not a Republican hater at all , however thank god all Republins are not like him. And as far as bragging rights for winning a Republican Mayor I think the rest of the republicans remember that it was Mocabee's recommendation not to endorse Stortz. And now your claiming that as a win? Rember the guy named Smith ? I'm pretty sure the record shows that he was endorsed by the republicans , And noow noone has heard from him. Thanks to Mocabee.

He'll get someone mad at the State with his letters and his constant degrading of other people. They'll kick him out quickly.

I have no problem with Art's letters to the editor. He's a good man with a good head on his shoulders.

Mocobee for Congress 2008!

Thank the Heavens!

"We have a Republican at the State level, we just had a republican mayor and we have 2 republican city council members." We have this not because of Art but because these candidates worked very hard to get elected and had help from a lot of people working on their behalf.

Art is not the reason and the Bristol Republican Party and
the city of Bristol will be better off without him.

His big ego will not be missed at all.

I really hope that when people are looking to move into a city they don't read this blog.

What has Mocabee ever won? He was Town Chairmen through the 80's when Leone was Mayor and the oly seat the GOP held was one council seat. He lead the effort in 1989 to elect four council members and than in 1991 he led the effort to elect a Mayor (Stortz) and three council members.

I hope that these negative comments about Art Mocabee and Gary schaffrick aren't coming from members of the GOP or former members such as Stortz and Kallenbach.

Gary Schaffrick was Art's Vice Chaiman during the times thatA rt Mocabee led the party and won. The GOP won because people rolled up thier sleeves and worked instead of belly aching that we cannot elect Republicans in Bristol.

Art does have organizational skills and if the members of the GOP Town Committee would listen and get out thier and work, they would elect more Republicans.

The Connecticut GOP is much better off with this appointment, but don't worry Mocabee and Schaffrick will be back bailing these folks out again.

Both have served numerous times as Town Chairman b/c no one wanted to do it, and all they get for it is a kick in the teeth.

No wonder the GOP is where they are. A collective group of ingrates.

If art was any kind of Chairman, we would have Republican Mayor today.

And it could have been one of two, maybe three.

Will the State change their mind when Burns gets defeated?

Anonymous said...

Burns won't get defeated. He's an excellant State Rep.

Just what has he done?

Maybe this will satify Mocabees ego enough so that he won't seek the local party chairmanship and some good republicans will get back to being involved.

If they left the party there not "good Republicans" The party is bigger than one man.

Art Mocabee doesn't seem to think so.

A lot of the comments about Mocabee have been removed. Including mine. He can dish it out but he can't take it.

The fact is he is not well liked by many because of how he deals with people.

He will not be missed and was a terrible leader.

Things for republicans in town can only get better now that he is gone.

Ronnie...if you or anyone caught Mocobee's rath it's because you are either lazy, ignorant about the party politics or both and have (had) no business being involved. He's tough he is demanding and he can be abrasive, but when you have to lead people who are not willing to work that are supposed to work then get out of his way. There is no second quessing as to where you stand with him. You either do or you get left behind. Suck it up Ronnie boy!

You can defend him all you want but the fact is the he can dish it out but he can't take it. There were plenty of comments that were removed from this posting that gave a pretty clear picture of what many thought of "this character".

You can defend him all day but Bristol is better off without him.

More republicans may actually want to get involved and some of us may even want to join the town committee now that he is gone.

Leaders win. The republican party has been far from successful under Mocobee's so called leadership. Those that were elected were elected despite his so called influence. Ask Stortz, Mike R., etc. -- They know the truth.

It can only get better from here.

Many of us have stayed away and not wanted to get involved with the Bristol Republicans and now we can.

Leaders inspire not bully.

Mocabee is no leader so there is nothing to suck up except his hot air. The state can have him.
