City switching insurance administrators to save $1 million

There is a special Board of Finance meeting at 5:30 today to consider whether the city should dump Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield as the administrator of its health care spending. The move is expected to save nearly $1 million annually. For the story, click here.

Are you trying to make us believe that ONLY Anthem has computer problems?
Are they saving money on the administrative costs, because the jobs are out of state or off shore?
In either case - it's not good for Bristol or CT in the long run.

Wish i could have made the meeting, if only to listen to Glens "explanation".

Why such short notice?

3:03 - now you are unhappy that the city is saving over 1 million dollars? U are one idiotic simpleton - what were they supposed to do, check with you? quite obvious that you would get too stressed out if you had to make a decision - and that is assuming that you even have the mental ability to make a decision.

What part of save the city a million dollars don't you get???
Geesh, what a bunch of pinheads!

4:03 they could save more maybe 2 million if they did this in house. how about that.

Yeah, lets save the city money on health insurance because we can give it to the Board of Education. There's no savings, the city just keeps spending. If they save a million here they'll just spend it somewhere else. What happened to all of th money the unions gave back? Are taxes didn't go down so it must have just been wasted away. Nice job city council, keep spending.

Tell me, with your logic, why do we have any open meetings at all?

Also, maybe somebody might be able to add to the, or raise a question that has not been thougt of.

Maybe your approach is one of eth reasons why we do have problems.

I understand the fact that Bristol needs to save
money anyway it can but the fact is our compulsive
spending politicians will only spend the savings
on another unaffordable project.
If Bristol is hurting as bad as our politicians claim
WHY are they still pursuing spending money
we do not have to build 2 new schools?
We may need these schools but the fact is
Bristol nor the state of Ct. can afford them
at this time.
I thought Bristol elected at least one self
proclaimed fiscal conservative to the city council?
Where has he been on this fiscal disaster??
I guess the mad dog is really a lap dog.

7:19 You're being a typical hack hypocrite again. You ask why do we have open meetings at all ? And in the same breath you condone this cowardley way of name calling and whining? Do you have the nervve to practice whart you preach about openess? Ho Hum nothing new .

8:44, The children of Bristol would be just fine without 2 new schools but the taxpayers will be poorer because of it. Wake up, Bristol is BROKE the State of Ct. is BROKE. If we could afford it I would agree with building them but the city cannot....read the Bristol Press.
If you can't afford it you can't have it!!!
I can't understand how people think today when they feel they are entitled to something for nothing or should have something they cannot afford.
If this is stone hearted too bad because it is the truth and you know it!!

They better not cut benefits.

IN bristol they will take this saving and give it to the school system. We need day care centers in the center of bristol for all the unwed little girls pumping out kids and going on welfare. Then we could send them to school to learn the system and screw us tax payers. Ever wonder how all these kids walking around bristol day and night live.
