A challenger emerges for Larson

Perusing the Federal Election Commission website this morning, which is always fun, I discovered that a Republican challenger to U.S. Rep. John Larson has emerged.
The East Hartford Democrat, one of the most powerful in the House, faces a challenge from a Republican named Mark Zydanowicz.
Zydanowicz has not yet filed any campaign finance paperwork, but my pal Google helped me learn he is the marketing manager at Guida's Dairy Products.
He sent in the paperwork to the FEC on March 15. His campaign committee will be called "Z for Congress," which rolls off the tongue a bit easier than Zydanowicz for Congress. As a marketing manager, it's no surprise he's on top of that.
Zydanowicz is a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves, too. He apparently helped in the rebuilding of Baghdad.
He's also married and lives in West Hartford, but given the  unfortunate nuttiness of some people these days I think I'll leave the link for that information off of this blog. He has children, too, I learn from the Hartford Courant's birth notices.

Update at 1:20 p.m.: He's slated to be at Monday's Republican town committee meeting in Bristol at 7:30 p.m. at the Board of Education. So anyone who wants to meet him, he'll be there.
He also has a website that's not yet unveiled. It's at zforcongress.org.

Z-boy Doesn't stand a chance. Larson has it all sewn up, again.

Repugnant republicants are fooling themselves into thinking the TeaBaggers and psuedo-leader Palin the hockey pig Momma will help in November.

Democrats, under the leadership of President Obama will add more seats to both houses.

Let the campaigning begin!

No matter what, Larson is a shoe-in. With his coalition of union money and support, as well as interest groups from the welfare class, environmentalists and people of non-traditional lives Larson is unbeatable.

I'm glad a good guy like this is running though. Phil Steele beat Larson like a drum in their debates but no one was listening. Here's to hoping people listen this time and have some common sense (which is doubtful).

I don't see the creeping socialism that has been characteristic of this country since FDR as a good thing. Many do, but I believe they're wrong.

LOL, you said it. But what made Merrick move to Granby? Was it because he was too arrogant to take some criticism? Was he broadsided by people not recognizing what he thought is his intellectual superiority? Did he, who acted as though he cared about Bristol, actually think Bristol was below him? Could he, one who oddly won the support of the AFL-CIO and the CT Assoc. of Realtors (two groups on the opposite end of the political spectrum), not accept failure? Perhaps he wanted easier access to beer on Sundays? The world needs to know!

What do they say in Poker? Buying a hand? So I guess Larson with all that money is planning on buying an election. I guess that is better for some than running on merits and values or how to decrease deficits.
