A handful of residents turned out last night to urge revisions to the city government’s century-old charter.
Those who spoke at the hearing told the Charter Revision Commission their thoughts on expanding the number of city councilors, stripping sexist language from the charter, extending the terms of elected officials and more. Here is the story.

Here's a suggestion to Kate Matthews: Don't recommend the appointment of a guy charged with two felonies next time.
Second: Don't pick a fight with an employee and then a week or two after try reviewing him in an obvious effort to have him terminated.
It's obvious Kate Matthews has little experience in the real world.
We need fewer politians, not more.
We need more accountability, not less
Curious why there was no mention of the proposal to the committee for creating an evaluation proceedure for all department heads.
They should have them pass a I Q TEST before they run. Whats the citys liabilty if one of these guys has a stroke at a meeting.
I wish Terry Parker one the election.
Tim they need votes when will you learn. How do they judge one there doing such a shit job.
Tim
Theer is such a thing as employee contracts and labor laws.
But then, you wouldn't know that.
"Astonished": Why are using the Charter Revision Committee thread for your ignorant bashing of Kate Matthews (who is more of a man than you'll ever be)?
Kate Matthews: Not ready for prime time.
Tim whos qualified to do this. This group is made up of the worst council ever. This was cockyane tipping off the paper about rosenthal and then they fell on there face.
Leave things the way they are we have enough problems. Or get a town manager before bristol is distroyed.
Heads up!
You have a Ward,Cockayne,Minor controlled Charter Revision effort, with input from Kenny Johnson.
Heaven help us!
"Or get a town manager before bristol is distroyed."
I don't think a manager will help the City, but maybe a teacher could help you?
kate must have thought that her district was only Garden street.
I love the way posters here "write in" what they THINK I mean.Never wrote a single word as to wether I approve of an evaluation proceedure, who should do that evaluation or how.Yet 5:24,8:50 and 1:58 apparently feel they can "read my mind."My only point was, having attended the initial public hearing,I wondered why there had been no mention of one of the proposals put forward to the committee. That and nothing else.
P.S. Do I need to speak to the need to sign ones name AGAIN?
This is a perfect example of a poor school system in bristol. Its not education its money in bristol.Over paid school personal with no skills.
1:46, I can only hope that the PERSONNEL that taught you weren't overpaid...they did a lousy job.
Oh-dumb:
If Katie was a male she'd be a PUNK in my opinion not a man. Much like you.

What do you know about education? You don't even know enough to capitalize the word Bristol.
Tim:
I actually agree with you (maybe). That is if you think evaluating "dept. heads" is good idea.
Let's hope the Charter Revision Committee listens to relatively smart people like Councilman Coackayne and not wanna-bees like Terry Parker.
On that note please don't expand the council if it means an automatic seat for Terry Parker.
Relatively smart people like Cockayne??? You must be joking!
The blog teacher is Stortz. Hes trying to impress his wife. Hes hoping she restores his allowance.

Where were you eductated?
I was educated in Bristol (not bristol) and it's (it is) better to keep your post to yourself and be thought a fool than to post about education and prove you are a fool.
Bristol has a lot to be proud of including our schools.
March 17 5:30 What do you smoke. It must be sex 101 there teaching. With all the little kids in the west end pushing baby carraiges around.

Must really kill you that there are actually people who take pride in Bristol. I agree with March 17, 2010 5:30 PM's comments about the positives of Bristol.
You dwell on the negatives and your comment shows just how narrow minded your are.
If you hate Bristol so much move! You won't be missed.
