Alford gets a position at City Hall

It’s not the job she wanted, but former Republican mayoral candidate Mary Alford has snagged a position at City Hall.
Mayor Art Ward, who defeated Alford last fall, nominated her to serve on the city’s Transportation Commission until 2012.
The move got the unanimous backing of the City Council.
Transportation commissioners serve without pay “to promote a safe, efficient, and sustainable public transportation system” in Bristol.
The panel consists of seven members, including the city planner, a regional planner, a senior citizen, a city councilor and three residents.

yep and ward put zoppo on the committee that she asked for also, the cemetary committee, which she is chairperson of besides. so don't be thrashing ward about holding grudges against his opponents.
oh, and ken johnson, he got paid $10,000 of city money and hasn't done anything for it yet so I guess that counts also.

Zoppo WAS ON that Committee from the previous administration.

Seems like Ward and a few Republicans are playing games with the city: as long as they take care of each other.

Yah, but Zoppo and Johnson are friends of Krawiecki: that is how they got their deals, as did Alford.

Just what does the transportation committee do, just what have they done

Do they meet?

Did Alford get the Senior Citizen seat?

Looks like Ward is having trouble getting people to serve: clearly many democrats are backing off.

But what did he get in return from some of her supporters?

I guess Ward is afraid of her. She can still run against yiu Art, maybe even beat you this time.
