Mayor Art Ward issued a warning Tuesday that he won't tolerate slipping standards in the attire of city employees.
"The dress code of City Hall is business casual," the mayor told a department head meeting. "I expect you to ensure that everyone conforms to it."
The mayor said he doesn't want to see jeans and sneakers on city workers unless they're sanctioned for some sort of special program or particular need.
"Everyone is pretty much aware what the appropriate attire is," Ward said.

Is that in the Union contract? LMFAO!
Dress code worries when the city is facing bigger problems? Gee Ward anything else stupid up your sleeve?
Who's wearing jeans?
Thank God for the union contract.
Imagine city hall without it, the place would run amuck so fast with all the political hacks that are in and out of office.
The mayor addressing the fact that city employees have been getting lax in their professional attire is not stupid. Someone complaining about it is.
2:31PM - Go kiss Art butt somemore.
3:14, Sounds like a personal problem.
3:14 - it is Art's butt not Art butt - geez, summer school still has openings in the first grade level.
Klocko should have to wear some socks then.
Socks should be outlawed from May through November. (ok at least through October). :)
And the Mayor underwear.
Their performance and behaviour is as bad as their dress!
I find it ridiculous that the Mayor had to address this issue. City Hall has a dress code and it's up to the supervisors to maintain their staff is dressed appropriately. If it was absolutely necessary to remind staff of the dress code regulations, a memo should have been issued by the Human Resources department. No wonder Ward can't get anything accomplished the way he micromanages everything. Please work on something that will save the taxpayers some money, Mr. Mayor.
Mayor worries about dress codes? C'mon start addressing the real important issues here. Oh I forgot you don't know how.Just go have your beers.
Didn't Nero fiddle while Rome burned?
Did Klocko tell him to do that?
I find it ridiculous that people would bother to bitch about something so innocuous. I guess it shows how desperate and pathetic the anti-Ward folks are. Sad really.

Are you complaining about Artie complaining about the way employees dress?
Who is pettier?
9:31 Asking employees to present a professional image is NOT petty. Bitching about it IS.
Get it now?
Doesn't look like they are complying!
But then, who listens to Artie anyhow?
Bigger things the mayor should be concerned with then how employees dress. It's that what we pay the big bucks for - manangers to manage?
Artie,
12:11 says stop bithchin!
12:11 Sorry, wrong again.
"But then, who listens to Artie anyhow?"
Uh...the voters?
Artie reminds me of Couture and his paper clips!
Remember?
5:55
Wrong again!
Semper Ubi, Sub, Ubi
This city has gone down the tubes since Artie was elected. Time for change.
