Larson hails Obama

Press release from U.S. Rep. John Larson's re-election campaign:

On January 31st, Congressman John Larson (CT-01), Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, became the first member of the House Democratic leadership to endorse Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States.

Last night Senator Obama secured the nomination as the Democratic candidate for President. Congressman Larson says:

“Americans across the country have made an historic decision to elect Senator Barack Obama as our Democratic candidate for President. I said it in January, and it is even truer today, Senator Obama has a remarkable ability to inspire generations and unite people towards our nation’s common good. I am proud to call him my nominee for President. And, I am thrilled to continue to support him in this next phase of his journey to the White House. I know that he will restore honesty and integrity to the presidency, and offer Americans a leader they can believe in.

“I also commend Senator Hillary Clinton for her diligence and passion in this campaign. Her candidacy showed women around the world that they can aspire to any goal. She is a wonderful public servant and the American people are lucky to have Senator Clinton working on their behalf.

“Now, it is time for our party and our country to come together in support of Senator Obama. We must heal the wounds of this campaign and do what is best for our nation’s future. We are the party of change, the party of ideas. With Barack Obama as our leader, I am confident that we can put an end to the policies of yesterday – the policies that have diminished our standing on the world’s stage, damaged our environment, and spoiled our economy. Today, we begin to work towards a new, better reality for the American people. One where the American dream really means something to our children and our word means something to our allies around the world. As Senator Obama said last night, ‘this is our time.”

It's too bad we have elected officials that are unable to speak truthfully .

Mr. Larson .... you just might get some respect if you were to stop spewing what is dictated to you and say what everyone already knows about the Democrat presidential candidate about to disgrace my beloved party further .

Ive really thought long and hard as to how it is a disgrace to the party. The two candidates aren't that far apart on the issues really. I feel as though it boils down to one thing: age. I don't mean the age of the condidates themselves but the age of the supporters. Its no secret Obama has a lot of supporters that are younger and I guess it just burns some of the older democrats up that the youth is getting involved. My suggestion would be to form your own party like your buddy Joey Lieberman. You can call it the old grumpy man party and Ill even suggest a rallying cry for you: Get Off My Lawn!!!

We didn't have a candidate worthy of voting for in the primaries .

I guess we'll just have to gag a bit and vote for the other guy .

If your view of politics is so simple-minded, I have one thing to say to you; Get Out of My Country!

Larson is a total liberal on everything. He learned his lesson from 1994 when Closet-(commie)-Curry beat him in the Dem primary.

The clearest and biggest issue (besides the fact that Larson is an Obama supporter and is beholden to every liberal special interest group in existence) is the War in Iraq. Larson want to cut and run, Visconti want (like McCain) to win.

To 9:35 It's people like you who can't win an election because you are the one out of tune with people other than your tiny little group of critics. And of course YOU think you own America and you and your party think it's yours and their country. If it's so bad here and no one likes your form of country why don't you get out of OUR country and try to convince others that you are right and every one else is wrong!
