New year's greetings from the mayor

A note sent out to the city's email list by Mayor Art Ward this morning:

As we embark on 2008, our hope is for this New Year to be the healthiest,
the safest, the most prosperous in relationship with family and friends, and
the most glorious in being able to realize the success of all of our goals for 2008.

Individually, and as a community, we all have hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow;
TOGETHER, we can make these hopes and dreams become reality.

I wish you and your families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Happy New Year!

Art Ward
Mayor

Welcome to Bristol 2008, where every day is happy hour at A-Ward Cafe.

To the 6:12 Poster~It's people like you who do not want to move forward to better our Community in 2008. You'll just stay behind in the Past and go to Nowhereville!

If I hear the term "move forward" one more time I think I am going to vomit. The real term should be "move forward with my pals only, not the whole community."

To the 3:25 poster: Your gratuitous comments seem so angry, bitter, pointless...or perhaps jealousy is your motive? I'm not sure what your particular problem is, but your kind of attitude is exactly what's keeping Bristol from moving FORWARD...

.....would be nice, at least for New Years Day, to think that everyone would embrace the hope for a bright, unified community.

Look at the appointments list - the most of the people are from the DTC or political pals.

Looks like Ward is learning fast.

Stortz, who made some great non-political appointments and crossed over party lines, got slammed by his "leadership" and a few others for doingt that.
Art certainly is thinking politicaly, at least based on the list I read.

I would think he would hesitate to put a developer on Zoning, or any othert land use board.
And, does Geladono still own that ugly blighted property on Main street?

The DTC people he is picking are his political pals
