Huckaby doesn't like me

Elbert Huckaby doesn't much like me.
Instead of ripping into some hapless public official, as he tried to do during last month's City Council meeting, the former mayoral candidate turned on me instead.
That's OK, really, because I'm tougher than any city councilor.
Huckaby this evening took the podium in part to denounce me as "liberal and biased" and condemned me for supposedly writing a dishonest account of his appearance at the November council meeting.
Odd that nobody else saw any particular bias in my account, given that scores of people were at the session and hundreds of others watched it on Nutmeg TV.
Huckaby said he's not going to talk to me anymore.
I can't say that I'm sad about that, but I will promise to keep speaking to him as necessary in order to keep the public informed. He may not answer, but, as he pointed out, he has free speech, too.
And that includes the right not to talk to me.
God knows I can live with silence from Huckaby.

Merry Christmas early, Steve!

Steve, so that's all you have to do to get Huckaby to shut up? I guess Christmas comes early for you this year! Congratulations.

Why the heck is this guy showing up all of a sudden?

Are you referring to Minor as hapless? Because if you are I would have to say he showed he has a pair tonight.

Steve Collins said...

Craig Minor't not hapless.
Don't forget that Huckaby's gone after others in the past.

I actually don't like you very much either (sometimes). I agree with your disdain for Huckaby's behavior, but I also agree with him that you are liberal and biased against conservatives. It's a fact Steve, face it.

It does sometimes look like that the Press reporters pick favorites or pick which elected official they are going to gang up on. Sorry Steve, but sometimes looking through the prism of your reporting can show distortions.

It's true. We spin a wheel every Monday morning to see who we'll gang up on that week.

Politician "pick on wheel" - $50
Laptop for blogging - $1000Notepads - $5
pens - $1
Getting Elbert Huckaby to stop talking to you - priceless.

For everything else there's Mastercard

Question...what is a liberal in Bristol?
Someone who points out the big paychecks public employees are taking home.
Supporting efforts to recognize the contributions made by local veterans.
Wants homeowners to pay taxes on the true value of the homes...the price they want when they sell out to move to Fla.
Favoirs teaching of U.S. history in the public schools

what is a conservative?
someone who wants to i gnore the U.S. Constitution when it pleases him.
Someone who does not want Route 72 fixed so people from Hartford and New Britain find it hard to bring their social diseases to Bristol.
Someone who wants lower taxs by cutting back on education but increasing services for senior citizens
Some who wants to close the Soc. Sec. office in town to save taxpayer money.
Wants the police force weakened so it does not bother him with speeding and DUI tickets
Favors teaching of U.S. history in public schools with only the accomplishments of white males emphasized.

Is Art Ward a bigger liberal than Bill Stortz
Is Ellen Zoppo a bigger liberal than Barbara Doyle.

Is Elbert Huckaby the voice of local conservatism?

Come on... stop throwing out labels do you don't know what they mean

Minor "showed he had a pair tonight." Sorry, those weren't his. I think he borrowed those from Ellen.

Does anyone really care what Huckaby has to say anyway. His 15 minutes of fan were over a long time ago.

It's time for him to crawl back under the rock he crawled out from.

His refusal to speak to you Steve should be viewed as an early Christmas gift!
