If you don't see any more posts, come kick me.
This is stunningly dull.
Anyway, up next is the Federal Hill Association's 3rd District City Council forum, featuring Republican Bob Merrick and Democrats Craig Minor and Frank Nicastro. The Democrats are both incumbents, and Nicastro was mayor from 1993 to 2003.
They're all wearing nice suits. The Democrats are on one side of the moderators and Merrick's on the other.
The audience has grown to about 50, but they're the same old, same old.
Turnout is "disappointing," as GOP mayoral candidate Ken Johnson put it. Of course, it's what everyone involved expected.
Let's face it, even the Padres game sounds pretty good when you compare it with a political forum at City Hall.

Steve, you deserve a purple heart for this.
Your efforts are much appreciated.
Ken Johnson: the turnout is poor because you candidates are poor.
For the record,it was NEVER the intention of BFHA to provide entertainment, but rather INFORMATION.Sure it's dry,but also important!
You know you're in trouble when even the organizer admits it's "dry."
BORRRRRING! Steve, you not only deserve a Purple Heart, but also a big fat raise for this!
Steve: Did you really expect any of the candidates to say something radical? They want to get elected! People don't vote for radical. It sounds like you were really just hoping for a trainwreck where someone said something stupid like Ford did about Poland, or Bush about anything.
Did I expect something radical? No.
It was exactly what I figured it would be.
Still, you never know.
I just did my journalistic duty. I reported what all these guys had to say in more detail than would ever appear in the paper.
Now if any of them would like to say something interesting, well, they know where to find me.
Speaking of reporting, where was the blow by blow of last night's forum? Narry a word, Steve. What gives?
"Narry a word"?
The whole thing is right here!
But if you're talking about a story in the paper, a lot of this will appear in future stories. There was no way to write a story about the mayoral debate and the council debate in the very short period between the end of the forum and my deadline.
That goes for the other night, too.
The best place to find out what happened at the forums is, of course, to read the live blogs. Those reports hit most everything.
