And let me add ahead of time, I'm not going to allow a trashing of Zoppo to occur in the comments on this thread. If you want to say something, keep it clean, decent and reasonable or I won't post the comment.

This is a good fit for Ellen and the club. She is aware of what our youth need from the angle of all ages, she is organized and has enough connections with the community that will help with fundraising.
I wasn't a fan of hers as a politician, but I think she will do good things with the club.
Ellen is an EXCELLENT choice for this position for all the reasons mentioned by first poster.I know she will do very well.
You're such a party pooper, Steve.
Let's see... Ellen has never had a job in social services, by her own admission, yet the Boys Club hires her with no experience at all in a "competitive" process to run The Family Center for $50K? Sweet deal for Ellen.
Ellen is a people person? Now I've heard everything.
I wouldn't want to be working under an inexperienced, overachieving Ellen Zoppo at The Family Center (they still do have a few employees). Has she ever been in a position of managing people before?
The Family Center got screwed by the Bristol (Old) Boys Club. The worst case of wholesale public sexism in Bristol in a long time. And the people in town stood back and watched (or helped) it happen. Only a few strong old women even said a word, but they were ignored. Heaven help the little girls in town (they lost the most) when Jim Truscio and his roving gang took over a formerly safe haven for girls and for families.
Steve, I thought you weren't going to let anyone bash Ellen for this.
She's qualified to work for the club and I think she will do it well. She wasn't the only person they considered, and I think they made a good choice.
I couldn't agree with Tim Gamache more. Not only is she an excellent choice as director of the Family Center, but she's also an excellent choice to be the FIRST City Manager.
I look forward to our new mayor filing that appropriate legislation and the state approval for a change in our form of government.
The voters do not want her in city govt. I doubt very highly she would get that position. She does not have the qualifications.
If her name was Ellen Smith should would not have gotten this job.
Tim gamache, first you turned on Ellen to support Ward, and now it's obvious you are kissing up to her.
I find it interesting that Ellen will be working for Michael Suchapar and if elected, and if she is allowed to stay on as the mayor's secretary, Mary Suchapar would be working for Art Ward. Has anyone else connected these dots besides me? For Michael to come out with this press release is either very untimely, or Mary already has her walking papers. Why would Ward want that close of a relationship with Ellen. If Mary was going to be allowed to stay on, I bet she will be gone now.
The original source for this story was not either Suchopar. But it is interesting how these things get tangled up.
Bristol is all about nepotism and favoritism. Ward and Ellen were opponents, but they belong to the same system of inner circle opportunities and favors that average citizens don't have.
Ellen will bring a wealth of energy to this position.Best of luck Ellen I do appreciate your hard work.
Stortz now your picking on your own Secretary?
How low will you go?
Well maybe Mary's husband should have communicated with her his desire to bring on Zoppo. I think they made a mistake, but hey time will tell.
