To all of you who want so desperately to post something about candidates' children: it ain't happening.
When somebody runs for office, they open themselves up for public scrutiny. That's fair.
But they aren't volunteering their entire family for that same level of scrutiny unless they seek the presidency or some other extremely powerful position.
I'm not going to let comments go through that talk about the way a candidate cares for his or her children, points out legal transgressions by children, or puts children in a less than positive light.
There may be a reason for an exception someday, but that's how I'm doing it 99.9 percent of the time. Kids are off limits.

EXACTLY RIGHT, STEVE!
THANKS STEVE....
I'm amazed everyday by the things people will say behind the vail of the internet's anonymity.
Thank you Steve!
I agree! This is not about the canidates children. Family matters should be kept private and lets stick to who can make a better leader.
That is one of the reasons that you are so highly respected Steve.
Ward's son is a police officer working for the City of Bristol. I think that's fair to report. It's hard to believe that the prospective mayor could be un-baised in dealing with any issues that involved his son. The same could be said about other mayors whose immediate family were working for the city.
Johnson's kids are all school/college aged. Of course any comment in regards to them is inappropriate and irrelevant.
Thanks!!!
The fact that Ward has a son who is a police officer is relevant. I guess I should have said that I won't allow any posts that could put underage children in a bad light, or slurs against family members of any age who are not otherwise in the public eye.
I think that pretty much covers what I think is correct for this blog.
AMEN!
Thanks for showing your more human and objective side Steve. It's not something we see very often here.
Way to go Ken
Steve consider moving to Bristol.I agree with the 12:12 poster.
VERY classy, Steve!
I think some of the candidates kids would be better choices than the candidates themselves.
