Democrats meet tonight

Dan Malloy, a gubernatorial contender, is talking to the Democratic Town Committee this evening.
We'll no doubt have some more City Council contenders before the day is through, too.
I'll try to get it all, but that's easier said than done. Candidates, be sure you let me know what you're doing. You can reach me at scollins@bristolpress.com or screaming my name on North Main Street until I hear you. I recommend dropping me a line.

Steve,

Is it true that Ward has been skipping the PWKS meetings quite regularly?

11:19 maybe you should have Public Works dig you a trough for the hole that you are digging for yourself - get an issue jerk.

WARD IS NO FOOL.

But you sure as hell are. RUMMING? HERE (instead of "hear")? Trust me on this: while this may well be a free country, and you certainly have the right to free speech, if I were you, I'd exercise that right in a more thoughtful and judicious manner.

Let me see ... the city workers backed him in '07 and now he's dissing them in '09. No wonder he doesn't show up for the meetings. I'm sure it's very uncomfortable for him. It's important that our mayor keep in mind that the city employees are citizens of this town, too, and pay taxes.

The unions have become scapegoats for the bad economy, and I believe he's just jumped on the bandwagon without stopping to think what that is going to do to the city's infrastructure by not properly funding PW not to mention what will happen in the voting booth this fall.

Dear Mayor, it's time to start listening to the voice within instead of the constant clamber of the voices outside your door who clearly have their own agendas.

Ward isn't funding PWKs because Stortz and Zoppo did.

And he isn't pro-active on blight, because too many others were/are.

Unless the Republicans get Krawiecki or Stortz to run, Ward will get reelected, and maybe have 6 democrat councilmembers.

Not proactive on blight... Understatement of the month! Ward has destroyed the blight enforcement in this City. Slumlords have at it b/c Ward doesn't give a damn because it was Zoppo's idea.

5:48 PM ~ You give Zoppo far too much credit. No one cares anymore. Let it go...

Ward has not only not moved forward, but actually has worked to undo some of the good that Couture and Stortz did, as well as some of the efforts of Zoppo.

Actually, what has he done, besides ride on the good efforts of others!
