Stortz to declare by week's end

With the Republicans slated to pick their mayoral contender next Tuesday, Mayor William Stortz still isn't saying whether he plans to run again.

"The answer should become clear by the end of the week," Stortz said Monday.

The mayor added, however, that one can argue whether the week ends on Saturday or Sunday.

In any case, by Monday it should be clear whether Stortz, who captured the mayor's seat in 2005 by knocking out incumbent Democrat Gerard Couture, hopes to remain for another two years.

Some advise mayor - don't! Please do us all a favor and don't run. @ years of nothing is more then we can handle.

Does he honestly think anyone with any common sense thinks there's a possibility he WONT run? Its tragically comical really..he stands on stage performing to an audience of one (himself). Oblivious to the fact that no one cares, so long as hes the center of attention and squarely in the spotlight. It reminds me of a bad horror movie where all the monster costumes are so poorly made you can see the zippers up their backs. What a dissapointment he turned out to be.

He's just playing games. He knows his party doesn't back him and neither does the voting population that got him into office this time around. He won't run again, just playing for press time.

He will run asagai, he needs time for all the slow acting poison from the punji sticks to take effect.
