Miss Bristol 2006, Brianna Carello Miss Bristol 2006 is named Brianna Carello. But is it the same person that the Republicans nominated tonight as a 3rd District City Council candidate?
Who knows? Certainly not the GOP.I won't embarass all the Republicans I asked tonight who could not answer the question. But I will say that Bob Merrick, the other Republican candidate in the district, knew that she was involved in pageants. He wasn't sure if she was Miss Bristol last year, however.
So is she running?
I would know except she didn't attend the nominating meeting. The GOP simply nominated her. Let's hope she knows about it.

It wouldn't be the first time the Republicans appointed someone by mistake. Ken Johnson, whose name is in the papers an awful lot these days, was appointed by Mayor Stortz to the Water Board last year...but it was a different Ken Johnson that Stortz meant to appoint. When Stortz realized his error a couple months later he was too embarrassed to do anything about it. Which might be the REAL reason he keeps trying to kick Johnson off the Water Board.
She didn't show up for her nomination, so is she a placeholder until they find someone else or is she the sacrificial lamb? Either way, I feel sorry for the girl. She has no idea what she's getting herself into.
Briana is a member of the Republican Town Committee and has a keen interest in politics. She expected she would be nominated. She was also Miss Mum when she was a teen-ager.
She is an excellent candidate.
