Maybe Ken Johnson's still in the race?

After watching Ken Johnson and Mayor Art Ward clash tonight, I can't help thinking that the 2007 Republican mayoral candidate may take on Ward again.
I don't know exactly what caused him to rethink his plans to run this year, but I know people enough to see the fire in the belly that candidates need. And Johnson has that.
Ward could obviously see it, too.

But did he slam the door on the way out?

Which door: City Hall or Republican?

What does slamming the door have to do with him being Mayor?

You liberals have ran this City into the ground its time to take it back.

water board no-show, o m's drop-out, cl&p loser, $10,000 do-nothing city farce, mayor's race in/out, enraged temper tantrums, destroyer of city property, everyday/all day actor.

Unfortunately for Ken, the "fire in his belly" is brighter than the bulb in his attic.

Poster 9:26 and 9:37

It was Ward who started the personal attacks. Johnson kept to the issue.

But then again that's the only thing Ward knows how to do. Personal attacks so you get off the real issue.

8:03, You're kidding right? Johnson's childish temper tantrum, door slamming, foot stomping, name calling tirades are famous...cuz, personal attacks so you get off the real issue, don't they?

too bad that johnson couldn't just do what he got paid $10,000 to do - get the city those hundreds of thousands of dollars he promised to deliver - instead of trying to cover up his failure with political crap - how many years do we have to wait ken?

Again all I have ever seen is Ken Johnson coming up with ideas for the tax payer. What has Art Ward done? Give me a friggin break. The Mayor is Mayor because he is a popular guy..Period! If it was to come down to brains Ken Johnson wold win hands down. Half the public works guys cant stand Ward. I never hear one of them say anything against Johnson. This city is about to face some real important challenges in the next 2 to 3 years, and do you want Ward or Johnson as your Mayor? My vote is going for Johnson and Ward got my vote last time. I need some sort of return on my vote and I have not seen one from Ward yet. I have seen more ideas coming out of the Johnson camp then Ward had the whole time he was running for Mayor.

2:48, If all you've seen is "good ideas" coming from Johnson, you need to get out A LOT more.

Will Ken grant benefits to Clift?

I'd have fire in my belly if I was getting $50,000.00 for doing virtually nothing.

That is equal to six months of being mayor.

Anonymous said...

$50K for doing nothing???

How do you know what he did and didn't do????

Look, the city signed a contract with him for 10% of whatever he collected that has been well documented in the Bristol Press.

Why are you pissed at Ken for that????

Your liberal Democratic friends on the City Council, including Ward when he was on the Council approved it?

If the City recoups $450K its money we didn't have.

Cmon, you liberals cannot be that dumb? Can you?

Again, rag on your liberal friends.

I hope Ken does get back in the race... then Ward won't have any problem getting re-elected.

As bad as Johnson is, and even with a 0 tax increase, Ward is going to have a tough time getting reelected!

I really hope Ken runs - because the Obama effect will not work to get Ward elected this time. People will be very pissed when there taxes go up...again! We have a large aging population that will not be able to afford to stay in this town soon or even the state. Its really sad.

Plus a ton of the union guys are actually fed up with Art. Take that for what its worth.

run ken, run said...

putting johnson back in the race is the same as letting ward run without an opponent - "let the secretary cast 1 vote for the unanimous election of art ward."

"the Obama effect will not work to get Ward elected this time."

Uh, actually that was the "we don't want a temper tantrum throwing overgrown child effect."

Ken will run again, just for spite, as he did last time.

And, that will take the inept republican leadership off the hook.

And the beat goes on!

ken had better provide proof of all of the accusations that he spouted off at the council meeting or when the pedal hits the medal, big mouth will be road-kill.

I believe the proof was in the e-mail he read. Also did anyone notice how Ward kept trying to stop Ken from reporting on the progress or lack there of on this issue. Ward got caught letting this wither on the vine. When Johnson was running, there was no way Ward was going to push this through so Johnson could have some positive press. Now what is his excuse? So much for moving Bristol forward. It's more like what can you do for Ward?

"I believe the proof was in the e-mail he read"

You "believe" do you? Well, I believe you're wrong.

Ward was going to wait until the campaign and then bag Jonson.

Looks like he got hoisted on his own petard.

Looks like Barnes doesn't even want to try and win.

Does his appointment to the retirement baord mean that much?

If Johnson is still in the race, he has absolutely no credibility left, and the Republicans have even less!

What a sad state of affairs.
