Jennings School gets $14K grant for Smart Boards

RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF CONNECTICUT AND WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS TO PRESENT JENNINGS SCHOOL PTA OF BRISTOL WITH $14,000 GRANT

WHO: Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts will present John J. Jennings School PTA of Bristol with a $14,000 grant to purchase three portable SMART Boards, giving teachers the latest technical tools to develop innovative programs for their students. The presentation will take place at the Bristol McDonald’s with Alan Daoust, McDonald’s Operations Manager, Joseph Lisella, McDonald’s Operations Consultant, and Ryan Wells, Bristol McDonald’s Store Manager, presenting the check to Dr. Gail A. Gilmore, Principal of Jennings School, Debbie Alderman, Vice President of the SMART Board Grant Committee and Jennings School Parent-Teacher Association, Holly Goodwin, President of Jennings School Parent-Teacher Association, Cheryl Consonni, Fifth Grade Teacher and SMART Board Grant Committee member at Jennings School, and Kevin Ross, SMART Board Grant Committee member at Jennings School.

WHAT: RMHC of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts makes investments in children’s futures through grants awarded to local, non-profit organizations that benefit children and families. Since 1988, RMHC has provided over $5.5 million to more than 350 non-profit organizations, helping thousands of area children lead happier, healthier and more productive lives.
John J. Jennings School, located at 291 Burlington Avenue in Bristol, serves approximately 385 children in grades K-5 who will reap the benefits of the new technological tools that will allow them to learn in their unique individual styles. This in turn should ultimately increase students’ engagement and effectiveness in many subject areas, insuring all learners are focused and motivated, standardized test scores are up and content is retained.

HE IS MORE RIGHT THAN WRONG. AT THE PRESS IT IS OFTEN A SLANTED REPORT THAT WE READERS GET . IT SHOULD BE THE STRAIGHT FACTS.

I think this comment is in the wrong place but it's also off the mark. Steve is putting everybody's press releases on here so that we can read them ourselves. I'm impressed with how straight he does right stories, especially with the crowd he has to cover.
