Monday's meeting notice

NOTICE OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

There will be a special meeting of the City Council to be held on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 111 North Main Street, Bristol, Connecticut.

AGENDA

1.         To consider the recommendation from the Forestville School Building Committee for the City Council to take appropriate action necessary to acquire the following properties:  25 Daley Street as represented on the Assessors’ Map 2 as Lot 40-2;  31 Daley Street as represented on the Assessors’ Map 2 as Lot 39-3;  37 Daley Street as represented on the Assessors’ Map 2 as Lot 38-4; and 692 Pine Street (otherwise known as Starlite Market) as represented on the Assessors’ Map 2 as Lot 41-1, and to take any action as necessary. 

2.         To convene as a committee of the whole sitting as the Real Estate Committee, with Chairperson Frank N. Nicastro, Sr. presiding over the meeting.

3.         As the committee of the whole sitting as the Real Estate Committee to convene into Executive Session for the purposes of receiving the findings pertaining to the negotiations for land to be acquired for new public schools, first from the Forestville School Building Committee and then from the West Bristol School Building Committee.

4.         As the committee of the whole sitting as the Real Estate Committee to reconvene into Public Session and to take any action as necessary.

5.         As the committee of the whole sitting as the Real Estate Committee to rise and report to the City Council with the Mayor Arthur J. Ward reassuming the Chair, and to take any action as necessary.

6.         To adjourn.

Apparently at the request of the Superintendent and what we have here is the most roughshod, ramshackle example of bad government in the history of Bristol.
