Mayoral forum, Part 9

Ken Johnson said he'll be a mayor who is honest, has integrity, will act with civility, will not put forward personal agenda and such.
He said he would have office hours for public right away. He said he'll hold ask the mayor sessions around town periodically, perhaps even in front of Stop and Shop.
Johnson said he'll charge the BDDC to move "full speed ahead" and the BDA to get the industrial park done.
He said there should be a youth advisory board under the Board of Education. It would advise the panel and include elected presidents of high school classes. Why not ask our children?
"We need new ideas and we need experience. I believe I bring both to table," Johnson said.
He said he runs several businesses, including real estate. Using that experience, he helps homeowners sell and market their homes without employing a real estate agent.
"I'm an idea person," he said.
He said he is dedicating his campaign to his dad.

Game is over. Boston wins 4-0. All hail Josh Beckett!

Ward said he takes great pride on constituent service.
"I take great pride in picking up that phone and responding to that person" who calls for help, he said. "There's a sense of satisfaction" that someone had confidence him to call and there is "a great feeling" of pride when he can help, Ward said.
"Bristol is at a crossroads," Ward said. "We have a lot in front of us."
"We have things, probably at my age, we probably won't see again," Ward said. To do it right, the city needs someone who can work with people, "not be fixed in a stolid manner, but be willing to listen. I think I have demonstrated that ability over most of adult life."

Over.
Fortier says both candidates are outstanding.

Steve, are your fingers insured? They're as valuable as Beckett's, but in a different way.

yeah, get the elected school class officers involved in giving the BOE advice. high school class officers in my day were popularity contests where jocks and princesses would win. that will be really helpful if city hall plans on creating a football team or holding a holiday dance.

your ignorance to new ideas is shameful, the idea has merit and should be explored.
