Unofficial numbers....

Art Ward – 5,071
Mary Alford – 3,321
Gary Lawton – 369

Treasurer:
Rose Parenti – 4,199
Bill Veits – 3,974

Council District 1:
Cliff Block: 1,697
Kevin Fuller: 1,659

Eldianne Bishop: 921

Council District 2:
Kevin McCauley: 1,713

I don't think anyone cares, but the referendum passed overwhelmingly. We don't have even unofficial results, but the official results from Greene-Hills and the American Legion precincts show it passing by a wide margin.

Thanks for not making us read through New Britain's numbers before we got to our own town, Steve, like the Press website did.

Congrats Rose!

Ya know, you people come on here and complain day in and day out, about how Ward and the Unions suck and how our City is goin to hell in a handbasket....yet when it comes time for change, nobody drags their lazy asses to the polls to vote!! Those of you that didn't vote today should all be ashamed and and you deserve what your stuck with for the next two years.
Do us all a favor and keep your whining and complaints to yourself from now on. The sad fact is that the Citizens in this oountry and in our Town are not "united" any longer.

You rock!! All the best to you.

Post 10:40,I made my votes for everything but Mayor,I don't vote for the sake of it!I don't
consider any of them worthy of my vote! The Republican Party is nothing but a joke and this includes Ken Cockayne! He sounds like a little boy who whines, cries, keeps secrets and really doesn't care about anything or anyone but himself! The only 3 I won't comment on right now is Matthews,Mills or Fuller but you have a short window and don't just blow hot air like the other three!Show us with actions!!!

Great results regarding Rose, Ken Cockayne, Dave Mills! It’s even better that we didn't elect left wing nut-job Marko or cognitively limited Terry Parker.

But the fact that this referendum (question) passed is a shame. The city of Bristol has done a terrible job with economic development. It's wasted money (recently) on poorly run companies like B&W Manufacturing and it's given money to doomed businesses like the sweet shop on Main Street (which was there a few months at best). The Downtown scheme was poorly planned and terribly timed as well as being a reckless expenditure. The Industrial Park on Middle Street cost millions and so far has paid nothing in dividends. So why would people give the "go ahead" for the city to do more of this nonsense?

Parker is cognitively limited? Sounds like concerned conservative is the pot calling the kettle black yet again!

Concerned Conservative, very rude of you to call Terry Parker cognatively challenged. If you ever took the time to have a conversation with him you would know that he is very intelligent and cares very deeply for the town he grew up in and raised his daughter in. Just because he has a speech impediment doesn't mean he is cognatively challenged.

Concerned is only concerned about concerned. Rude should be his middle name. Egotistical should be his first.

I have more brains than you and Parkr combined (which still isn't saying much).

I'm not buying your little speech

Now you are the pot calling the kettle black.

CC, You're flattering yourself. Ever wonder why everyone gets so annoyed with your egotistical, obnoxious dronings? Pretty much everything you have to say still isn't saying much.

Some things I post are reponses to idiotic drivel (such as yours). But much I post is more about policy in general than it is just taking cheap shots (like you do at me).

So perhaps you should read more carefully and be more thoughtful?

Wouldn't it be funy if CC was really Steve, lol

Steve Collins said...

Yeah, I'm CC. I love writing insulting comments aimed at myself.

concerned conservative; you are an egotistical imbecile! Terry Parker has a speech impediment and nothing more. He is actually an extremely intelligent man but is always judged by the way he speaks. You were probably one of the ones who teased him as a child because he was "different" from you. Lord knows what you say about people in wheelchairs or anybody with a disfiguring injury! You're shallow and clearly don't have the capacity to see past the outside of a human being. Go back to the cave you crawled out from! p.s. You're the ignorant one!

Nah, Steve has far too much class to be CC.

HA!

I've been following your posts as much as anyone man and I'd say it's about 50/50 when it comes to policy and personality.

And speaking for myself the policy isn't saying that much either.

Congrats to all the people that won. I will admit I was wrong about my predictions on David Mills. He should be commended for winning.

At the same time it is sad to see Mike Rimcoski go. While I didn't always agree with his politics, overall I feel he was a class act who dedicated many years to the city.

And CC, you'd be happy to know I voted against the referendum as well!

Did I miss it?

Didd Alford announce that she was runing in 2011?

Anonymous said...

8:09 PM, Relax. You didn't miss anything. The Republicans will have to name at least 3 or 4 unknown, inexperienced candidates before they finally pick the right name out of their hat.

Anonymous said...

I guess we were able to shut you down good and proper, huh, concerned conservative? I'm sure the republicans are extremely angry at your comments. You disgraced the party and yourself. I know of no other republican that would speak about a person the way you have. As far as I'm concerned, any postings you make have no merit in my book.

Concerned Conservative DOES NOT speak for the republican party (or republicans in general) in Bristol. He has proven time and time again that he has no class. He is a bitter excuse for a human being and his opinions are just that his opinions. He owes Mr. Parker an apology and should be ashamed of himself.

They have yet to pick the "RIGHT" name.
